Reward: Sheriff Smith's Justice
Added 2021-04-01 02:08:45 +0000 UTCHey, everyone! Man, where did the month go? It's almost April already! And no worries, no April Fools from me. I'm enough of a fool for that and that would be too much... foolery. π
I recently posted the free, downsized version of Studs of the Wild West to my blog, Barbaric Brawn, and noticed some renewed interest in Sheriff Smith coming out on top. I'd planned on doing that with a PDF adaptation of this story sometime later on, but in the meantime, I did these three panels of the new sheriff in town laying down the law (and just laying down on) Bloody Tex and his lackey, Billiam.
On a side note, I went to my doctor's appointment this morning and was told the results of the new MRI I'd taken a few days ago. He, and his NP before him, told me that the scans were "amazing" and there was a "complete response," which means there were no suspicious findings in the scans. He also told me I'm in remission. ππ
To be safe and eliminate any possible microscopic cancer, I'll be admitted to the hospital and taking another round of methotrexate (chemotherapy) on Tuesday. It'll likely keep me in the hospital until Saturday or Sunday. A while after that, I'll be leaving the state for the stem cell / bone marrow transplant to complete all of this. I really do dislike talking about this stuff here -- it's not quite a nice subject to go along with the works you're expecting from me! But I feel that you guys deserve to know what's going on behind the scenes.
I'll still be doing art and other work while I'm over there, but I'll likely have to be sneaky/selective about it, considering the nurses pop in way too frequently!
I'm going to try and finish work on the PDF of Wrangled and Roped before Tuesday, but there's a good bit yet left to do on it. I've done 112 panels of it (including new panels, epilogue, and alternate ending) so far, but there will be more panels and text pages beyond that before it's done. I apologize if I happen to miss that deadline. Thanks for your patience on this!
