However, the inclusion of ghosts means that I keep getting sims getting scared by ghosts that 'Happy Haunts' by ChippedSims has hidden. I wonder if it would be possible to make this mod somewhat modular so that I could toggle which occults I want to have be 'widely believed in' versus those that are still considered imaginary?

I just wanted to let you know that I have a child sim born as a fairy to a fairy, and this child does not believe in the occult. It's no big deal at all since I can just change it via the cheat menu, but I figured I should give you a heads up if you didn't already know. Thank you!!

2025-04-27 13:05:27 +0000 UTCI hope you add that when someone first meets an occult sim they can have a 50/50 chance of getting the scared state where they run around screaming or the excited state where they want to know more. Like if I met a vampire I'd run for the hills but if I met an alien I'd be curious to know more.

I have a couple of ideas if you want when you expand it : - it would be super cool if the fact that occult sims are secret was more active, for example spellcasters could choose to not use magic at all in front of human sims, or if they do use magic autonomously (like brooms to move around) then they could make sure to do it away from other sims so that they are not seen and found out, unless they know that sim knows about the existence of occults (like through interaction) - maybe we could choose for the world if occult sims are secret or not - have various reactions to seeing occult sims like seeing magic or their true form, like fainting, fleeing, curiosity etc. There is a mod called ghastly ghosts that makes them a bit more realistic, and not all sims can see them (only pets, occults and animals) - so for example if your mod worked with that one, when people see or just "feel" a ghost around them they could get scared, etc. - have some obsessed people with occult sims - like humans obsessed with vampires or becoming a vampire, etc I just want to say that these are just ideas, the mod is already awesome as is! Thank you for sharing it with the world :)

I really want them both to be afraid of the occult, is there maybe a cheat to make it happen or anything? Btw, it’s perfect that someone made a mod like this, thank you so much! 🫶🏻

If they are/if you do, I don't know if this is possible, but it would be cool if you could make it so that the For Rent haunting event could blocked if no one in the household believes in occults and if only some sims did, they would be the only ones who could confront the ghosts and/or seeing objects possessed could make them believe in ghosts.

2024-05-15 09:18:59 +0000 UTCi ADORE this mod! i do have one question/suggestion though, is there a way to toggle off the fan mail for sims that have become occult researchers? i completed the aspiration for the research side of things, not the fame so it's become a bit annoying that my sim receives so much stuff in the mail daily. if there's no way to disable it, then i highly recommend adding one.

2023-12-04 02:32:21 +0000 UTCthank you so much for this mod! adds so much depth to occult playing! i've run into things i'm not sure are bugs tho: when encountering pre-existing household ghosts from a save file i downloaded, my sim didn't fullfil the "get proof occults are real" aspiration step. even talking to the ghost and asking their occult status didn't seem to trigger anything [they said 'we're both humans', and even mocked me for believing in ghosts lol]; i understand mermaids, aliens, werewolfs and vampires won't reveal their secret until higher levels of friendship, but being ghost an obvious status, why doesn't encountering/meeting one immediatly counts as occult proof?

Someone could spot them ? Or maybe, the whole occult view point, like "discuss about boring non-occult life", or "envy having a normal/open life", "should we come out to the world ?", etc. Did you disabled bar's special alien discount ? I don't see the dowload link...
