It took alot of getting used to, but inuyasha has come to accept that talon is more than capable of protecting him. They fight together as well, but Talon is so protective he usually takes the lead. Talon has told inuyasha many many times that he vows to give inuyasha as peaceful of a life as he can free from worry or concern, including needing to worry about his partner because Talon certainly isnt a young school girl, not a mortal priestess. He will protect Inuyasha with all he has.

Of course, this does instill an on going disagreement between them that inuyasha feels useless and frail due to being "coddled" as he says. But talon always pushes inuyasha to keep up his training with tessuiga, and their arguments always lead to more "physical activities" in which inuyahsa can assert his dominance
