Usually, yes. This month I believe Dr. John is going to be picking a movie/documentary but so far we haven't heard yet.

It's massive in the UK as well as internationally, and I for one am not at all surprised, having watched him quite closely for 20 years. I quite liked him very early on, although I felt quite ambivalent about it even then. There was an article only a couple of years ago with regards to coercive control in a relationship. It seems that he himself divulged disturbing information in his autobiography "My Bookywook", including quite sadistic treatment of the family dog. It goes into a lot of detail about his childhood, which would be really helpful to you. I think that it's an incredibly interesting story about a predator hiding in plain sight. Come to think of it, so did Ruby and Jodi. It always blows me away how much people get away with in public - until something happens. Russell Brand was briefly married to Katy Perry and treated her horribly as well, all of which was documented in a documentary about her a few years ago. He leaned heavily into right wing conspiracies a few years ago, especially after the previously mentioned article appeared in the press. He was also peddling a lot of Russian misinformation and supports the genocide in Ukraine. I think that he was cynically cultivating a cult following that would defend him when the time came and plugging into that network with clear intentionality. He was indeed defended by Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk, the Tate brothers and other well known right wing misogynists such as Laurence Fox well before anyone saw the Channel 4 Dispatches documentary last night. Online reaction from many men in particular is horrifying and one journalist said that it is rather an unusual tactic to challenge this before it even came out and to unleash a mob like this. My arm chair diagnosis is that he might actually be a psychopath. It's a huge story, and even if you can't or don't want to deal with it right now, please put a pin in it. I think that there will be more to come unfortunately.

I was so disappointed as I live in the UK so usually your meetings start at 2am my time but currently on holiday in the states. The book is particularly topical because the UK govt. Is continuing to pare back the public state and the Commissioner for the Metropolitan Police has just advised UK from 31 August 2023 it would no longer assist with mental health disturbances. This had been left to them as the NHS has been decimated. So leaves people in the UK in a very tricky place I hope I will be able to catch a live meeting soon
