Lori's hearing, Macbeth and other late night snacks
Added 2022-08-17 14:06:02 +0000 UTCWe sat down last night at our dinner table to just ... talk.
And talk we did. We talked about Lori's emotions in court yesterday morning, and we talked about what John did while Banks and I were out of town (Spoiler alert: He went clubbing. ... Just kidding. He watched Macbeth).

2023-12-10 03:01:36 +0000 UTCVery bothered about the materialism of Chad / Lori's belief system. Would be laughable, if the outcome wasn't so horrendous. (All this concern with Lori's "divine" physical appearance and God's eye color. How more stupid and petty can one get?), Modern Christianity is much more transcendental Even the old reformation era Westminster Catechism describes God as Spirit, infinite, eternal , and unchangeable in his being , wisdom , power, holiness , justice , goodness , and truth. Notice God having no physical appearerance, but ir described by "his" attritutes -- yes they used his, but they weren't worried ober eye color etc.

2022-08-20 06:21:21 +0000 UTCI think that she did die unfortunately, but I find the comments/posts about the sounds the car was making very interesting. In my research I learned that newer cars that are WIFI enabled can be hacked relatively easily, which can affect brakes and acceleration.

2022-08-18 06:09:46 +0000 UTCThank you for doing something on Anne Heche soon. Her death just keeps bothering me - what happened, and why? No one in the media seems to be discussing it, or even interested. I can't get the question out of my mind.

2022-08-18 04:24:54 +0000 UTCI have a question for the Great Lori regarding conspiracy to grand theft. How can they prove lori continuing to take her children's payments an agreement between her and chad? Lori could of chosen herself to continue receiving payments possibly even after the fact of when Tylee and JJ were gone and chad just going along with it once she informed him. The way wood described conspiracy as an agreement has me asking this question. I understand there is evidence of her receiving payments after their deaths. Have I missed evidence of chad's agreeance?

2022-08-18 03:44:47 +0000 UTCI do have a question for Dr.John. Would the treatment to restore Lori to competency be the same treatment used for mental illness. And if while she was treated for competency, they found and diagnosed a mental illness, would they automatically begin treatment for that? Would she still be treated for mental illness while in jail? I know treatment for mental illness includes meds as well as CBT. I know meds are continued in jail and prison, but what about CBT? Is it not surprising to see she may be more alert but not necessarily healthier mentally? And even from an ethical standpoint, if they found her diagnosis of mental disorder, would they treat it? Would it be unethical to leave someone in the state’s care untreated while knowing they need treatment?

2022-08-17 21:57:58 +0000 UTCI loved this episode and discussion between both of you. Your son sounds like a bright, caring young man and his questions about the lady in the police car touched my heart. Nate Eaton mentioned in an interview that when Lori saw him in the courtroom she did a double take and then SMILED at him (which surprised him). I seriously think she is not with it.

2022-08-17 21:33:50 +0000 UTCInteresting stuff. As a child, I did not have those pillars (gratefully, no sexual or physical abuse), and my emotional growth has been stunted. I have struggled my entire life to form healthy attachments to people. It ain't easy being me. 😏 I know Dr. John disagrees, but I think that Chad did not believe ANY of what he was espousing. If a key difference between a psychopath and a sociopath is whether he has a conscience (a psychopath doesn’t have a conscience, sociopath typically has a conscience, but it’s weak) then in my unprofessional opinion, Chad is a psychopath. A psychopath sees others as objects he can use for his own benefit. Lots of bad behavior by Chad preceded the death of the children.

2022-08-17 20:57:42 +0000 UTCMy opinion is Lori is still a believer. I don’t know if she is a true believer or a believer bc she won’t allow her mind to think otherwise. Anyone who became aware that their belief was wrong would be a basket case in court. She is holding on either purposely or genuinely to the belief system. So her behavior seems to coincide with the same behavior she always exuded. She seems to be enjoying the attention because she still believes she is enlightened and is superior in knowledge. As if the explanation is going to “show” us all and she was right all along.

2022-08-17 20:32:17 +0000 UTCOh! I appreciate y'all bringing up that Lori has been on meds for awhile now. I hadn't thought about that. In the mugshot photo of her when she was returned to jail after being restored to competency, she looked pretty vacant. I agree with Lauren that she looked pretty well put together yesterday. It's interesting that to some people, Lori's oddly timed smiles and laughs made them think she's coming unhinged. That's not how I saw it at all, but it's funny how significantly opinions vary. Anyway, I'm now thinking (and hoping tbh) that ongoing meds and therapy are helping her stay competent, so we can get her to trial.

2022-08-17 19:42:02 +0000 UTCI think you can hear Nate Eaton saying here, "I was on video. I think you got some good pics." So the photos of Lori in the cop SUV might be stills from Nate's video, but more likely they're from the guy you can see at the start of this video, holding an SLR with a zoom lens. Just fwiw! https://youtu.be/7R1bjuhDXYs

2022-08-17 16:49:26 +0000 UTCI kept watching Detective Hermosillo in the background. I wonder if Lori's family is putting money into her jail account. She looked like she had on eyeliner but not mascara or other facial cosmetics.

2022-08-17 15:10:27 +0000 UTCMy friend said she thought Loris hair was modeled after a Pekinese. I don’t like to pick on peoples physical appearances but- I do agree that’s Pekinese hair!

2022-08-17 15:07:41 +0000 UTCThank you for this! I was in tears a couple of times (your story about Banks and reflections on Tylee). Watching the video of the hearing yesterday, I had to stop my knee jerk reactions to Lori’s appearance - the Rexburg Barbie look (stole that from Reddit, I think). Lori looked vacant to me, with “put on” expressions, her almost laughable “serious” face. I noticed Detective Hermosillo directly behind her, with such a fierce expression on his face, reminding us why Lori is here. People like the Daybells, Rowe and their followers may revel in their End Times fantasies but here, in this courtroom, is the real cost of such beliefs. It angers me that the name “Jesus” even crosses the lips of these people. I came across a quote from Leonard Cohen: "I'm very fond of Jesus Christ. He may be the most beautiful guy who ever walked the face of this earth. Any guy who said "Blessed are the poor. Blessed are the meek" has got to be a figure of unparalleled generosity and insight and madness…. A man who declared himself to stand among the thieves, the prostitutes and the homeless. His position cannot be comprehended. It is an inhuman generosity. A generosity that would overthrow the world if it was embraced because nothing could weather that compassion. I'm not trying to alter the Jewish view of JesusChrist. But to me, in spite of what I know about the history of legal Christianity, the figure of the man has touched me".

2022-08-17 15:04:22 +0000 UTCLoris smile was so weird- and I noticed she smiled giggled, sometimes with a blush, when Rob Wood was mentioned or spoke. Wonder what that’s about ? Maybe ( because he seems like a good cop type) he has been nice to her and she thinks he thinks she hot? Also- re kids and safety and security- my kids had scary house until they were 4,2,1. And stalking for 5 years. It was a really hard thing to juggle as I had to have some safety things in place which did scare them and they mention as adults. Fortunately they had my parents- salt of the earth stable nice predictable - I think that really helped a lot. They’re all very stable adults with good friends, no trust issues, but a definite strength and wisdom I think they gained from the early years. Knowing it’s important to not ignore red flags and that it’s ok to not tolerate bad behaviour and to have good boundaries. That’s what is super sad about Loris kids. I don’t think they had that stability ( except JJ had Kay and Larry) The Coxes are all off their chops - they were moved constantly. Colby had the benefit of a Charles being around too he reached adulthood. As valuable as that is, I know from friends who have had mums leave or not care about them, it can be harder. We are in a world of hallmark cards singing praises to how mothers are all wonderful, so it’s really hard for kids who feel like they must be SO bad or not valuable that even their mother doesn’t want them. On a primal level. Not so much conscious cos many can just say “ mum had her own issues- they weren’t mine.” But it’s very hard at the time- when other peoples mums are super glueing polystyrene birthday cakes together and icing them to perfection- taking joy in them- if u love the contrast of that, it’s a lonely place for a kid.

2022-08-17 15:02:07 +0000 UTCI think Lori is forming an emotional bond to her lawyer Archibald. I think Lori thinks she is a rockstar. It’s sick to think that she loves attention for killing or conspiring to kill her 4th husband, 2 kids, and 5th husband’s wife. Dr. John have you ever seen anyone like this before?
