So I have to clarify I am only 5 or so minutes into this episode, but something just clicked. When putting Alex Murdaugh in terms of being a family annihilator, it all falls into place. I quit trying to put myself in the place of a parent who would shoot their own kid, because that’s what family annihilators do. It makes all the sense in the world. Dr. John would be able to address the fact that there is still another son standing, but I would venture to say that it’s the same thinking that caused Alex Murdaugh to kill just two members of his family, as it would be for killing the entire family. Killing the two made the most sense to him given his psychological reasoning, his perceived situation, and any number of factors he felt he could and couldn’t control. I know that family annihilators vary in their motivations and types. I don’t know how much of this Dr John goes into in this episode. I always learn so much from you guys!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

Speaking of history of violence, there is a very good movie with Viggo Mortensen and Maria Bello with a cameo by William Hurt called “History of Violence” that might be interesting if you haven’t seen it yet.

I haven't heard anyone comment on one slip of the tongue Alex made when he said "I don't think I was capable of rational thought that day." He was answering a question about why he did or didn't do something, perhaps why he tried to turn Paul over. But I heard him almost accidentally confessing. Any thoughts?
