WIP Spoilers

Professional audio preview today :)
Working with AkujiSaitoVA and the results are very good!
https://x.com/AkujiSaitoVA

I am going to say 2 out of 4 animations are finished and just need some small touch ups and simulations

Didn't get much done the past week because I was sick
cough is still lingering, but I do feel much better :)

5090 gpu is releasing very soon, and I would like to upgrade, but i'd like to wait a while before buying because I am afraid of day 1 issues
It seems to be ~30% better than the 4090 That I have now, so hopefully a few days to a week would be saved per project :)
Also, I'm not making that much, so I will have no money in my bank account if I buy right away lmao

Thanks for giving me a heads-up before I dive down that rabbit hole! I’d like to get into Blender as a hobby, so it seems like investing the time to learn it properly from the start is the way to go. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions—thanks again!

Rocky

I experimented with koikatsu models in blender before and it was just a clunky mess The video you linked seems to still be a clunky mess In my opinion, if you want to use a koikatsu model, you should use koikatsu It takes no time, and barely any knowledge to make a decent Koikatsu model and an animation will take even less time The quality has a ceiling, and you won't surpass it unless you use actual 3D software The amount of effort you have to put in to make the mess that gets imported into Blender from Koikatsu exporters ends up being way more effort than just making the model from scratch starting from 0 but that is just my opinion 3D models are made for different reasons. 3D Printing, games, animation. You could use any model for purposes they aren't originally made for, but it'll always requires extra effort doing so

Thanks for sharing these resources! I’ve actually seen those videos before, and they were going to be my re-entry point into Blender. I recently came across this video, and it got me curious about how flexible the end product could be when using Koikatsu character cards: https://youtu.be/7BWrZkdzkQQ?si=JaVrPmiZjyWSyxBQ I’m a fan of Wataaamage’s character cards, and it got me thinking about giving Blender another shot to see if this process might be a viable option.

I use TararaTarako's bodies and make adjustments to get close enough to their actual proportions the last 4 videos all used the .blend version of his Marine model https://fantia.jp/posts/1426393 The first major thing I learned in 3D was character modeling since it seemed like it would be important I would like to try modeling again, since it's been almost 4 years since I made a character model from scratch Also, every video would take an extra two or three months if I made the models myself every time, and they would also not look as good as some of the very great modelers that have come out recently I very highly recommend this video if you wanna make characters in Blender It is in Japanese, but it is easy enough to follow along if you can't speak the language https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBtgjTiL1XQ&list=PLtBH0U-1YxiKRePt4FeuFG7ApoRWcOw48 This one is very good, but it'll be hard to follow along if you don't make the same character as he does I use alot of techniques he uses in this series very often :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kna9OVFO5cc&list=PLvgIVNDU-Dxi5h3JLNJMfK0t3-WsBm6Av I will also recommend this, but it may be way too hard to follow along with 0 Japanese knowledge :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk8POJpBkVs&list=PL7AyBndD_6pWbIRIb0KoO8ZnvsVQhLNLD and also, there is a new course that is still being released He worked on alot of 3D models for Vshojo and his quality is very high, so I am looking forward to it being finished :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3RLlz24D4U&list=PL0fgiOCljijy_0-UzknQ6Ub1pGr3EMLL8

That’s great to hear that you already have some projects planned! I just wanted to mention that I really enjoy the models you use—they look very true to the originals and have a polished, natural feel. If you don’t mind me asking, since you’re using Blender, did you create your models entirely from scratch, or were you able to import them (Koikatsu, MMD, etc.) and make corrections? The furthest I got in Blender was the donut tutorial, but I do eventually want to go back and give it another shot.

Rocky

also, I do intend to make VR variations for videos, so I guess I will revisit some old projects eventually I think I found a method to actually get nicer quality VR videos, so I am just waiting for VR hardware to finally get an upgrade that'll make it relevent again for the average person

Paul @Faucet_Face

Will do Kronii soon I wanna do 1-2 quicker 1 to 2 scene videos after this is finished, and she'll come after those I'd rather start new projects from scratch I am constantly making updates to my shader, the rigs that I use, and some workflow methods, so it does feel weird going back to old projects I do feel my bae video is a little lackluster, so I would like to work on her again

Paul @Faucet_Face

I was curious if, after this project, you might be interested in revisiting and continuing some of your previous projects, like Bae or Kronii. Do you think it would take a similar amount of time as starting from scratch, or could the existing work potentially streamline the process?
