Strongest in DxD - Chapter 62

The reason Ajuka finally reacted was that, in a split second, Ren's power simply disappeared. All the way through the Super Devil class and suddenly…nothing.

There were only three possibilities; One was that he died in such a way that not even a particle of him remained. The second was that he could be preparing a technique that required all of his power. Third, what was more worrisome was that his power had reached a level that Ajuka could no longer feel it correctly.

In Ren's case, Ajuka had a hunch it was the third case. He wished he were wrong, but he knew it was highly unlikely; which meant the situation had changed.

The moment the demonic power slammed into the humanoid an immense explosion had occurred, the energy concentrated on it was enough to destroy a city.

But when the dust settled Ajuka stared in surprise when he saw that the being that surrounded Ren was totally intact.

And then with just two words from Ren, Ajuka witnessed the power difference between them.

"Tengai Shinsei"

For a moment nothing had happened, Ajuka even considered the hypothesis that Ren's attack had failed.

But he quickly discarded that idea.

The entire region of the battlefield had been immersed in a huge shadow, and when Ajuka looked up at the sky he stared in surprise and awe at what he saw.

A huge meteorite twice the size of Kuoh was falling over the region.

Falling would not be the right word to use, as the meteorite was only a few hundred meters above Ren and Ajuka.

Ajuka's surprised expression turned to Ren, who showed no fear as he deactivated his [Susanoo].

"Are you going to kill yourself too?!" shouted Ajuka in surprise.

Ren just smiled, "I have many ways to get out of this, but you don't. This barrier is totally isolated making it impossible to escape, and also I suggest you don't try to destroy the meteor, neither would you, and this barrier is connected to the Underworld. So the damage here will be transferred there"

Ajuka's eyes widened at what he heard, especially the last part, after all he had no way of knowing if it was true or a bluff.

Knowing this, the Blue Maou began to think of a plan.

First, Ajuka thought of using the [Kankara's Formula] to take control of the energy that resides within the meteorite. There was a possibility that Ren's power created the giant meteorite using earth magic. Unfortunately, the possibility of Ren just teleporting him from somewhere was greater. That meant the formula wouldn't give the result he wanted if he was wrong. So he had to dismiss the idea.

Then he thought about using his raw demonic power to hurl him against the meteorite. It wasn't one of the smart moves, but he thought it might be enough. But then his calculations showed that there was a high risk that the meteorite would explode if it collided with such dense magic. But if the barrier were connected to the Underworld there would be many casualties.

His last choice wasn't as crude as his second, but it had the best chance.

And it took a full second for him to come up with all these ideas; half a second actually, from the other half it took him to pull himself together. It wouldn't have taken that long, but being in front of his best friend's killer had shaken him more than he'd thought.

Ajuka has created thousands of strong but intermediate level shield spells. He layered them and created a pseudo pillar and made sure it was directly below the meteorite's center point.

Ajuka held his breath as the meteorite hit the pillar.

Technically, the shield pillar he made shouldn't be able to withstand such a massive attack. But here was his trick. By the time one of the shields was being crushed, he was creating a new one in its place. And to increase the speed of rebuilding the shields, he chose the ones that were of intermediate levels. In the end, the rate of shields being created was much faster than being destroyed. Therefore, the structure of the pillar remained the same. But the pillar as a whole was being pushed back. He wasn't worried because he knew his power was enough and his calculation was right. He just had to wait.

So he finally stopped the meteorite.

Ajuka knew that at most five minutes had passed, maybe even less. But to him it felt like hours of horror.

Faced with such a display of power, Ren clapped his hands, drawing Ajuka's attention.

"Really awesome, to think you'd do something like that, but…"

Ajuka's eyes widened as he saw what was coming from behind the first meteorite.

Ren's smile only widened.

"How are you going to handle the second one?"

The clouds parted as a huge meteorite was revealed in the sky that was about to crash into the first.

All Ajuka could do was widen his eyes at what he saw.

The moment the second meteorite hit the first it was shattered as it was forced to fall to the ground.

The barriers created by Ajuka completely destroyed themselves as they could not support the weight of the two attacks together.

All the Maou could do was increase his demonic power to the limit to resist the impact.

The two meteorites fell to the ground generating an immense explosion and shock wave that could easily hit an entire city.

The shock wave continued to spread as everything was destroyed and could be felt hundreds of miles away.

In the middle of the wreckage Ren was standing calmly as the shock wave sent waves of destruction all over the place, Ren could only be unharmed due to having used his [Kamui] to become intangible.

Ren watched impassively as the cloud of dust slowly disappeared, he knew that alone would not be enough to defeat Ajuka.

Ajuka was one of the Four Great Demon Kings, a Super Devil who earned a position among the "10 Strongest Beings in the World".

He would not be defeated so easily.

"Come on Ajuka, I know I haven't defeated you yet," Ren said casually, "By the way, the part about this dimension being connected to the Underworld was a lie."

As Ren watched calmly, he widened his eyes as the amount of demonic power began to increase exponentially.

Suddenly the great mountain of stones generated by the two meteorites that fell on Ajuka were sent flying away by a strong green light.

They were not only sent out but were also totally destroyed by the immense pressure exerted on the environment due to such an amount of demonic power.

And then Ajuka came along, he got out of what was left of the impact as long as it was possible to analyze the situation.

Blood flowed in large amounts from his body, mainly from his head, Ajuka knew that if he hadn't used his demonic power to protect himself the damage would be much greater.

Seeing that he only had one solution he increased his demonic power to its maximum limit.

Ren's eyes widened as Ajuka's amount of power began to increase to match Sirzechs' "True Form," and that could only mean one thing.

"Looks like you're taking it seriously now," Ren commented as he watched.

When all the green light disappeared it was possible to see Ajuka in a new form.
