Gamer System in Campione - Chapter 7

A three-faced statue in front of a crossroads, and that could only mean one thing.

"We will see"

By raising his hand he let a small fraction of his magical power into the statue.

Ozymandias' eyes widened as an enormous amount of divine power exploded from the statue.

"I felt…the touch of the grave…" a woman spoke softly as the light show ended up leaving behind a tall dark-haired woman with red eyes wearing a chic antique Roman toga, her eyes soon focusing on Ozymandia: "You...you desecrated my statue!" the woman hissed angrily.

"I prefer the term, I woke up whoever was inside it" replied the Campione with a smile on his face.

"Don't lie to me, kid!" the woman spat, "I can feel it in your aura...that you're somehow masking." The woman paused and her eyes glowed purple as she focused on Ozymandias:

"Abomination!" she suddenly roared, "No, abomination is too kind for someone like you! You not only became one of that witch's bastard sons, you also dared to meddle in the gods' realm!"

The Goddess stretched out her hand in fury as dozens of lightning bolts and fireballs rushed at Ozymandias engulfing him in a massive explosion.

The Heretic Goddess continued to stare while she was on guard.

And when the dust settled it was revealed Ozymandias, with a slight smile on his face while he was unharmed.

"You really underestimate me Goddess of Magic, think you can beat me with it, I'm a Campione immune to magic" said the Sun King with a cocky smile on his face.

Being a Campione Ozymandias was totally immune to deadly magic unless it was ingested, and very resistant to divine magic, even a Goddess couldn't nullify it easily.

The Goddess's eyes flashed with fury.

"Don't be such an arrogant GodSlayer, I am Hecate, the Goddess of Magic, and your Authority will not save you from my wrath" screamed the woman as her divine power increased.

The earth beneath Ozymandias turned to very soft mud, letting it fall into its hold before it hardened once more.

"I know a lot about your species' resistance to magic, GodSlayer, so I have no illusions of being able to use my magic to finish you head on." She smiled, "But what if I don't target you directly, hm?" with that sand and dirt they created a twist around Ozymandias before trapping him in a five meter tall glass cylinder with a three meter radius with the boy in the center. Moments later, water erupted from a nearby source and was directed to pour into the cylinder.

"Does she want to drown me?" thought Ozymandias aloud, his voice had amusement.

The fingers of his right hand twitched as a golden glow appeared as he summoned one of his Authorities.

In front of Hecate, an immense golden light appeared inside the cylinder and in the next moment it exploded, debris flying in all directions and the water being totally evaporated due to the intense heat.

When Hecate's vision caught the GodSlayer in front of her she saw him, standing calmly with a large Egyptian scepter that glowed with divine energy, its color alternating in blue and yellow bands.

That was the first Authority Ozymandias obtained by killing Ra, the Scepter of Ra.

Obviously not the true form of the most powerful weapon in Egypt, the Scepter had two forms, usually Ozymandias used his sleeping form, where most of his powers were not yet available.

But even so it was a weapon worthy of being considered the most powerful of its Pantheon, it could generate solar flames and even Kill a Heretic God in that form.

Golden flames exploded from the staff causing all the ground to harden and crack.

"So this is the Authority you stole, Godslayer" Hecate said casually, but inside her mind was furiously trying to figure out which God her enemy had usurped that power from.

Hecate decided, and with a wave of her arms the ground below them began to darken and out of it emerged ghostly figures of ancient Roman soldiers who soon gained a more solid appearance and began to approach her by the hundreds, carrying swords and spears ready to attack.

Though she was the Goddess of Magic, Hecate was strongly associated with the Underworld God Hades and so she could summon the dead to serve her.

Seeing this, Ozymandias began to accumulate his power in his staff.

The Crossroads Goddess was not idle, however, and was on her guard as power began to build up in the staff, so just as Ozymandias started pointing it in her direction, she teleported to Campione's left using a of her Authorities, allowing the golden sunbeam to pass through the space she had been in...along with the dozen ghost soldiers in front of Ozymandias and several buildings beyond Hecate's previous position.

Hecate loomed above Ozymandias as it rained an immense amount of magical attacks on his enemy.

Ozymandias raised his staff which burst into flames while with a swing he incinerated all magical attacks.

"You know, this battle is much more disappointing than I would have expected, so let's get this over with," Ozymandias said smiling as he prepared to summon another Authority.

"I name my only friend, I command, even the Gods themselves will be nothing in my presence, restrain my enemy Enkidu" Ozymandias announced while using an incantation to invoke his Authority.

"Which?!" Hecate exclaimed as her eyes darted to what had interrupted her movement and focused on the chains that bound her entire body after the eruption of still-present golden portals. Trying to invoke the Authority to destroy the chains, she suddenly realized that she had not stopped her attack on Ozymandias by surprise - no, she was forced to do so by the chains that held her power: "What is this?"

"The Chains of Heaven" Ozymandias replied as she slowly approached the chained goddess, with each step bringing down more and more Ghost Soldiers.

"Gilgamesh? Is that who you killed?" Hecate demanded as she struggled to free herself from the grip.

The Sun King just smiled, actually one of the Heretic Gods he had killed was the Demigod King of Uruk Gilgamesh.

Seven months ago the Heretic God Gilgamesh had manifested on the bank of the Euphrates River, a place where ancient Babylon was located.

Knowing this, Ozymandias had gone straight there and fought the God Heretic, though it had taken a lot of him to defeat Gilgamesh.

But with his death he had gained Five Authorities linked to the legend of Gilgamesh, one of them was [Enkidu: The Chains of Heaven], although they were part of the [Gate Of Babylon] other Authorities obtained, due to their power she manifested as a separate Authority.

Chains that had the concept of "Reigning Over the Gods" sealing the deity and Authorities from whom they held.

"It's useless for you to know," said Ozymandias, calmly approaching.

Before Hecate could say anything, the Sun King's staff pierced her heart while releasing waves of flame that completely burned the body of the Heretic Goddess and killed her.

Ozymandias watched as the Heretic Goddess split into particles of light until there was nothing left for the Chains to hold, causing them to loosen and be pulled to the ground as dictated by gravity.

Ozymandias watched for a moment as he resisted falling asleep, whenever he slew a Heretic God he was summoned by Pandora to the edge of Life and Immortality.
