Chapter Five remake process

With the release of Chapter Five on the very near horizon, I thought I'd show you some of what to expect.
While this chapter hasn't had as much added to it as Chapter Four, it's still gone through some extensive reworking particularly on some of the key scenes.












Chapter Five means it's Wednesday morning already and on arrival you meet Jodie.
The outcomes during this scene depend upon the relationship you may or may not have developed already with Jodie.
The images in this scene were all remade with subtle changes to lighting, posing, camera angles and settings. The scene has also been extended to take into account some potential past events.

The events which take place during the morning remain largely unchanged, and I haven't remade any of the images in the morning meeting, or the events which take place in the office with or without Maria. I may revisit these scenes at a later date to improve the image settings.
There is a short additional scene with Megan to add a bit of narrative flesh to her story.
But in terms of the remake process, for now I've focused on what happens during the lunch break.












A key scene in this chapter involves your optional visit to the Principal's house.
Annie is of course waiting there to tempt you from your objectives.
The outdoor sections of this scene have all been remade to very noticeable effect.
They are basically way better than before.

A combination of lighting settings, camera angles and posing along with a lovely glossy skin highlight make the most of Annie's features.
I'm really pleased I spent so much time working on this scene. I hope that you are too!
I have changed the bedroom scene into one of the two bonuses in this chapter.
There is a little more too it now as well, and a few clues to a larger narrative...

The alternative or additional pathway during your lunch hour is to take up Holly's request for help.
This means a trip into he forest for a photoshoot with Amy as your slightly reluctant model. It's up to you to work your magic and put her at ease so she really starts to open up for you.
This is the first opportunity to really get to know Amy.






































Of all the scenes I've released so far, I think the ones involving Amy and Holly are the most profoundly improved.
Getting the lighting right for all the exterior images in the forest was key to this.
A combination of warm soft lighting and some strong directional sources with shadows give the natural feel of sunlight with lovely color saturation and texture.
Camera settings with a shallow depth of field accentuate the intimacy of some of the images.
Within the barn I used the shadows cast by the timber structure to add realism to the scene.
Overall, as you can probably tell, I'm very happy with the results.

The scenes with Amy have been extended and form the second of the two bonus scenes in this chapter.
