More notes about cash from Chapter Nine to Chapter Twelve

In response to some criticism and perhaps a fundamental misunderstanding of the function of cash within the game, I want to clear a few things up.

My intention is to add this guidance not only to the FAQ section on my Patreon pages, but also directly onto the website so it can be accessed at the appropriate points during gameplay.

This is to allay the fears and accusations that the cash system is unfair or even a scam.

This is a first draft of the text I intend to add.
Please read through it and let me know if it has the clarity and brevity required to get the message across.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT IN GAME CASH

You will start Chapter Nine with a cash amount of 120 in your wallet.

Throughout the Thursday evening chapters (Chapters Nine to Twelve) you can use cash to purchase a variety of things.

This can involve paying for meals, drinks, taxi rides, movie tickets and other enterainments especially in the strip club.

You may also need to offer bribes to corrupt cops and doormen, or leave some generous tips.

Tipping staff members and buying more expensive drinks like Champagne can often lead to more positive outcomes as the story continues.

Startegy is imporatnt... You need to strike a balance between frugality and frivolity.

Whatever cash you have left over at the end of each chapter will accumulate and can get used in the next one.
Note that you don't need cash after Chapter Twelve.

BUYING CASH WITH CREDITS

If you need more cash then you have the option to use credits to buy more. There are opportunities to visit an ATM or cash machine during Chapter Ten, Eleven and Twelve.

Using credits to buy cash is completely optional. You can play the game without spending any credits to buy any cash. There are opportunities to find or earn more cash at various points within the game. If you play strategically, then buying cash with credits is totally unnecessary.

FINDING FREE CASH

Along with the 120 you start with, there are opportunities to find or earn more free cash at various points in Chapters Nine, Ten, Eleven and Twelve.

There is 600 in total to find throughout these four episodes.

Finding all of that cash will take some exploring, some of it is well hidden. The searching will compromise what you can do during the game play of each of those chapters.

You can of course play the each chapter multiple times to fully explore everything.

WHAT IS SAVED AND WHAT IS NOT SAVED

Cash is only recorded at the game save points.

If you finish a chapter with a certain amount of cash, for example 200 at the end of Chapter Eleven, that will carry forward into the next chapter, so you will start Chapter Twelve with 200 in your wallet.

The cash amount in your wallet is determined by whatever you had in your wallet when you made a game save.

Chapter Twelve starts from a Chapter Eleven game save, so if you ended Chapter Eleven with 200, you will start Chapter Twelve with 200.

Then during Chapter Twelve, if you withdrew a further 300 cash using credits at the ATM, and then spent 100 during the game to finish with 400 cash. Your cash will not revert to 400 if you start  Chapter Twelve again.
It will go back to the amount you had at the previous game save.

To maximise the potential of the cash in your wallet it is recommended that you accumulate cash before the save points especially before the end of Chapter Eleven. That way when you start Chapter Twelve you have as much 'replayable cash' as possible in your wallet without needing to buy any more using credits.

You can use the same cash over and over again when you play Chapter Twelve, each time exploring different ways of spending it.

NOTE: There is an opportunity to withdraw cash at the end of Chapter 11. Any cash you withdraw at this point will get saved into the Ch11 game save for use in Ch12.
When you start Ch12 from that saved game, the cash will be waiting for you.
You can use the same Ch11 save to play from as many times as you want so you don't need to visit the cash machine in Ch12. You can use the same cash over and over again.

However, any cash you withdraw using credits during Ch12 does not get refreshed if you start again.
