March 2022 Production Update

Last month, I said that I was beginning production on clips for 50 Ways to Die in Minecraft Part 15 (which I hoped to release in June), and that I was starting with the most time-consuming clip because I wanted to get it out of the way first. I said that I would try to have it finished before March. That turned out to be an excessively optimistic estimate. March is almost here, and I’ve only just finished building the set.

The good news is that the big clip comes at the end of a series of running gags and I managed to finish all the other clips in that series, so I did at least finish something in February. The bad news is that I’ve barely started on the big clip and it might take the entire month of March to finish it.

It’s starting to look like Part 15 may not be ready for the June ad window I was aiming for, so I might need to hold it back until November. Of course, this is mostly irrelevant to you guys reading this, because, as patrons, you’ll get to see it almost as soon as it’s done. So if I miss my window and finish Part 15 in July or August, you guys won’t have to wait until November to see it.

As for me, I’m pretty worried about the delay. If I delay Part 15 until November, my channel will go through almost an entire year without new content. It’s never gone that long without fresh videos before. It might sink deeper into obscurity than it ever has. I’m worried that it might not be able to come back from that. Then again, maybe it already loses the majority of its potential attention during the 6 months it usually goes without new content, so maybe another 5 months won’t hurt it too much. I’d rather not find out, but I might have no choice.

One thing is for sure, though. I’m going to be much less ambitious with Parts 16 and 17.
