April 2024 Production Update

I’m still working on 50 Ways to Die in Create+. As I write this, I’ve reached the point where I look for music to use for the montage and so far, it hasn’t been going too well. For the Create+ video, I want to find music that incorporates construction or assembly line sound effects like the Breakfast Machine track from Pee Wee’s Big Adventure or the tracks from the Peppibot Factory from Pizza Tower, but it’s proving very difficult to search for tracks like that. Searching for terms like “Industrial”, “Factory”, or “Mechanical” tends to return things like techno music or corporate motivational music for some reason. So far, I’ve only found one track that I consider decent, but I’m going to need at least 3 for the video, and of course, the more the better. Still, I’ve only been looking for music for one day, and I think I spent about 3 days looking for music for the RL Craft video, so I’m not panicking just yet.

I am, however, getting pretty frustrated with how long this video and the RL Craft video have taken to produce. I was originally planning to release both of them in November last year, but obviously that was never going to happen. After I pushed their deadlines back all the way to June, I thought I could still finish them before March or even February and have a load of spare time to use on a new video that I could release alongside them in the Summer, but now March is almost over and I’m still just laying the ground work for the final edit of the second video. It’s looking like I’m not going to get much time to work on a new video after all.

I was really looking forward to getting another shot at trying something new. I don’t like how much my channel depends on these 50 Ways videos. They’re big and time consuming and they don’t seem to have much room for development at this point. It’d be nice if my channel I had something else to fall back on.

Anyway, for April, I’m going to finish the Create+ video. The next step in the process after I’ve found music I like is to rank the clips I’ve made in order to figure out which ones I want to leave out of the main edit. Then I’ll assemble a rough ordering of the remaining clips to make a basis for later drafts and start attempting to sync audio to it. Once that’s done, I’ll add the poems, intro, and end credits and the video will be done.
