Happy Endings Poll
Added 2019-08-01 21:36:43 +0000 UTCHi everyone! Recently a question on Tumblr prompted me to create this graphic to explain how romances work in Shepherds of Haven:

My question for you comes in the "ending" phase of the game, where the story zooms out and there's an epilogue detailing what happens to everyone after the events of the game.
Assuming both your RO and MC live by the time of the epilogue (π ), for a happy ending with an RO, would you prefer:
1) an "and they lived out the rest of their days together forever" kind of ending, where the exact details are left to your imagination? (Think Fire Emblem or Dragon Age, where characters 'live happily together' at the end if they don't just disappear mysteriously). This means it's not canonically stated, but to you to imagine if your characters choose to get married, have kids, etc.
or
2) an ending where you choose marriage, children, children's genders, and children's names during the epilogue itself? (Think in-game text like "and they lived together for some years before... [CHOICE] a) having a child... b) adopting a dog... [CHOICE] named...") Of course, there would be options not to have children or get married while in a loving relationship, as well! It would be a whole smorgasbord of options! You wouldn't be forced to do anything. But how specific would you want these details to get, at the risk of breaking immersion (the epilogue is told in third-person by a historian) and not technically affecting anything in the game itself?
In other words, would you prefer to 'solidify' your headcanon in-game, or leave the details in your head?
