Marina’s Sirens [Female to Male mermaid TG] - Part 1

For cooolooo

By TheSpiralledEye

Marina and Charlie have been living happily in Atlantis, but when Marina goes out of town with some girlfriends, a surprise shark attack activates her metamorphic gene once more, changing her back into a man. Now, she must choose to return to her life as part of Charlie’s harem as a woman or create her own.

~

Marina smiled softly at the mermaid in front of her. She was flitting back and forth across the room, tail twitching with stress.

“I just don’t understand…I-I knew this could happen, but…”

“You didn't think it would happen to you?” Marina suggested sweetly, the mermaid nodded.

Marina swam over to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulder to give her a reassuring squeeze.

“Nobody does, but it doesn't matter how masculine you are on the surface; metamorphic genes work in mysterious ways.”

“I just want to go home.”

“I know, honey. But we really recommend you spend at least a month down here after making the trip. If you still feel uncomfortable in this body, then we can send you home. Okay?”

“A month!? With tits and…and…” The mermaid's face went red, and she stopped before elaborating.

“Trust me, if you embrace this life, it can be wonderful.” Marina smiled, thinking of Charlie. “I was the same as you once, trust me.”

The mermaid pressed her lips into a thin light; Marina could see the doubt in her eyes. It was probably hard for this stranger to imagine her busty self as a man, especially now that she had fully embraced her femininity and started wearing mermaid makeup and accentuating her figure with decorative pearls and coral jewellery. Marina gave the mermaid another pat on the back.

“I just can't get used to the idea of being so…soft.” The mermaid sighed, poking one of her breasts glumly.

Marina forced the smile to stay on her face. Honestly, she understood that feeling as well. As much as she loved Charlie, their life here and had come to accept her new self; there was  apart of her that missed the benefits of being male. This session wasn't about her though.

“Dysmorphia is common, but rather than focusing on the things you can't do, focus on the ones you can. A female body has many benefits, physically and socially.”

“Socially?”

“Of course! Have you ever gone out drinking as a mermaid yet?”

“No, I mostly stayed in my dorm.”

“Do it; nothing feels quite so lovely as having several tipsy mermaids compliment the crap out of you in a club bathroom.”

Her client snorted with laughter before forcing her face back into a dour expression. Marina had to stop her eyes from rolling; had she ever been this stubborn? She hoped not.

“Promise me you’ll try?”

“...Alright.”

“That’a girl!”

The mermaid winced at that, but since she started this counselling job, Marina had learned that a little gentle encouragement, mixed with just the right amount of pushing folk out of their comfort zones, worked wonders. She waved the girl off and took a deep breath; that had been a long day. She was only working part-time, helping exchange students acclimate to Atlantis University, but the job was emotionally exhausting. Still, it was fulfilling. And for every hard session with a stubborn mermaid, there was a satisfying one with somebody finally coming to terms and embracing their new identity.

Marina waved goodbye to the psychologist in the main office before heading home. Ever since graduating, she and Charlie had been living in an apartment not far from the university. It felt surreal that so much time had passed already; her old life as a baseball-loving jock seemed like forever ago, and yet, no time at all. She hadn't been back to the surface, to be honest, the idea scared her a little. It would mean becoming human again and, due to a quirk with the drug, also male. While she missed her male body, the idea of actually changing back was strangely daunting. If only there was some way she could be both her beautiful mermaid self with all the strength and firmness of her male self.

Charlie was working at the chemical research centre, trying to find a way to modify the drug so that she and other gender-bent mermaids could remain their new sex on the surface. But research was still slow going, so Marina stayed in Atlantis. Not that she hated it mind; the city was beautiful, and every day spent in Charlie’s arms, enjoying their underwater life, felt like a dream. Still, even a dream life wasn’t perfect.

Marina shook her head free of such thoughts; wasn't she just telling another mermaid to embrace what she had, rather than pine for what she’d lost? She needed to take her own advice.

“Marina!”

The voice shook her from her thoughts, and she looked up to see Charlie approaching, a few of his scientist colleagues in tow. Including her own friend, the blue haired, glasses wearing Aquafina.

“I was hoping we’d catch you!” Aquafina grinned, “It’s been ages! Are you excited for the trip?”

“You know it!”

Charlie swam over and wrapped his arms around Marina’s middle and she happily snuggled into his side.

“Of course, being away from this fella is going to be hard.”

Charlie chuckled and pressed his lips to Marina’s temple.

“It wouldn’t be much of a girl's trip if I tagged along, what would your males think? I’d be run out of town for trying to steal you away.”

Aquafina giggled and rolled her eyes.

“Sorry, but I don’t date at work. Speaking off, I should get home to Jonno. I’ll see you on Saturday, Marina!”

Charlie gave her middle a squeeze, and they started off home. After a few minutes of silence, he finally spoke.

“Are you going to tell me what’s on your mind?”

“I’m fine.”

“Marina…come on now.”

She felt that familiar wave of submissiveness shivers down her spine.

“Something a client said today about her new body being so soft…I guess it just has me thinking.”

Charlie stopped and looked at her seriously.

“Are you having second thoughts about all this?”

“No!” Marina cried. “I love you, I love it here I just…sometimes, I miss my old body, I suppose. It’s hardly strange.”

“I’m working on that drug, but…if you ever want to go back up and try being a human man again. You can.”

“I know that! I don’t want to, or, ugh, I don't know. Maybe this girl's trip has come at a good time. I think I need to get away, get some perspective.”

“Alright.” Charlie leaned in and gently took her chin between his thumb and forefinger, forcing Marina to look into his eyes. “I can think of something else that might take your mind off things…”

Desire pooled in Marina’s lower stomach, and she felt her pussy moisten behind her scales. All Charlie had to do was hit her with that smoulder, and she was a wet mess. God, his dominance turned her on. Sometimes, she wished it wouldn’t, but it was just so hard to fight her instincts. He moved in and kissed her, deeply this time, and Marina felt herself turn to jelly.

There was a gasp from behind them, and Marina pulled away. Both of them turned to see their neighbour Brooke watching them with wide eyes and a red face.

“S-sorry!” She muttered before quickly swimming away, Charlie just chuckled.

“Let’s go home before we do something that’ll get us in trouble.”

~

Despite all the time that had passed, Marina had only left the city proper a handful of times. The open ocean was unsettling to her, all that blue going on forever. She couldn’t help but keep glancing over her shoulder, expecting a giant kraken or another sea monster to appear and gobble her up, especially when they got away from the well-lit buildings. So little sunlight made it this deep down, it was like midnight 24/7.

“Are you sure you’ll be alright without me?” Charlie asked, brow furrowed in worry as Marina packed her last few things.

“Aquafina, Brooke and Delta will be with me.” Marina smiled. “Besides, this is the equivalent of going out of town to a bed and breakfast on the surface. Just because being underwater is a bit darker doesn't actually make it more dangerous.”

She tried to sound confident, but the truth was she secretly wished Charlie could come along, just for the extra security. But if anything, that just hardened her resolve. She had to stop relying on Charlie for everything, even if her instincts screamed at her. Aquafina and Delta were both part of pods with a male, and they went off and did things alone, so could she.

“Alright, but I want you to be safe.” Charlie rumbled, wrapping his arms around her middle and giving her a squeeze. “Have fun. I’ll be thinking about you.”

“You could always get a few more mermaids for our pod. People think it’s funny that there is just the two of us here.”

It was true, ever since the others changed back and returned to the surface, there had been a handful of other mermaids who’d come and gone but none had ever been more than a casual fling. Marina preened a little, knowing that she was the only one Charlie ever came back to. Though, being a couple in a society in which groups of four or more were common certainly got them some looks. Old human habits die hard.

“I could never, not without your help,” Charlie replied. “If we are going to add more females to our family, I want you to like them as well.”

“Is that your way of saying you want to see some mermaid-on-mermaid action?”

“...I wouldn’t say no.”

Marina giggled and turned around to kiss him.

“You’re incorrigible.”

“You love me.”

“I do.”

He gave her one last kiss on the forehead before slinging her bag over his shoulder to carry downstairs.

“Just be safe.”

“Always am.”

“I know, Delta, on the other hand…”

Marina rolled her eyes. Delta was a bubbly, slightly excitable mermaid who had befriended her near the end of her degree. She flitted from male to male, enjoying all the freedom she could. Marina was happy with Charlie of course, but she couldn’t help but envy just how much control Delta was able to have over her own life. Marina still felt the compulsions of her new sex, to submit to her male. Delta, despite being born a female mermaid, seemed to have none of that. She stood up to any male who crossed her and seduced just as often as she was seduced. Maybe that was why Charlie didn’t like her; he saw her as a bad influence. Or perhaps it was jealousy, since Delta also seemed to have a thing for mermaids.

“Aquafina will be there. Between her being as straight-laced as a military boot and Delta being wild, I am sure we’ll find a nice equilibrium.”

“Look at you,” Charlie chuckled. “Using words like ‘equilibrium’, didn’t I tell you, you were smart deep down? All it took was a little effort.”

“You call all those late nights studying ‘a little’?”

“Those late nights weren't all bad, were they?” Charlie whispered, leaning in and slipping a hand between the cups of Marina’s seashell bra. She shivered, enjoying the feel of Charlie’s fingers brushing over her nipples. It would be so easy to give in and fuck right in the middle of the room, but a knock at the door made them both freeze.

“We’ll save this for another time,” Marina whispered, kissing him before moving to the window and looking down to see who it was.

Brooke was floating by the door, a handful of sea cucumbers from her garden in hand. Charlie gave a sympathetic smile.

“She’s lonely.”

“I know,” Marina sighed. “Any excuse to come over and talk…”

“Maybe you should take her with you,” Charlie suggested. “She could use some friends.”

Marina smiled, thinking of that nervous new mermaid in her office yesterday. She could see that same self-doubt on Brooke’s face, mixed with an odd sense of hopefulness as she waited by the door.

“You’re right.”

Marina swam out the window and down to the door, making Brook jump a little and half scatter the sea cucumbers in the water. Luckily, gravity wasn’t as much of a problem underwater, and it was easy for her to gather them all up against her chest hurriedly.

“H-hi! I grew these and thought maybe you’d like one!” She said hurriedly.

“Thanks, I can take them on my trip. Me and some girlfriends are heading out of town for a few nights.”

“Oh…that sounds lovely.”

“Would you like to join us?”

The effect was instant; Brooke’s nervous face broke into a smile and her chest rose as she gasped in excitement.

“Really? Oh yes, I’d love that. Are you sure your friends won’t mind?”

“Nah, it’ll be great! But uh, Brooke?”

“Yes?”

“You might want to take the sea cucumber out of your cleavage before we leave.”

Marina had never seen somebody go quite so red.

~

The curving rock structure was built right into a rocky underwater outcrop. It was several hundred feet higher than Atlantis, so the water was slightly warmer and lighter. It was sort of like going to a beach house on the coast, only with a lot more coast. As soon as they arrived, Aquafina set about organising the cupboards and unpacking food while Delta flitted from room to room, trying to pick which one she wanted.

“Oh, this is going to be so much fun!” The excitedly blonde squealed. “This was such a good idea, Aquafina! Thanks for inviting me!”

Brooke shuffled in the corner, nervously hiding behind her long copper hair in a way that reminded Marina of Harriet. The truth was she had invited her neighbour out of pity; while Aquafina and Delta were two good friends she made since moving to Atlantis, Brooke had been a near silent spectre next door ever since she moved in. They exchanged words now and then, but more often than not, she caught the mermaid simply watching her wistfully.

“Brooke, why don’t you come with me for a swim around the area? We’ll see if we can find nice picnic spots tomorrow.” Marina tried. The mermaid gave a soft smile and nodded.

“I’ll come!” Delta exclaimed, zooming past them both and out the door. “Let’s go, let’s go!”

“Don’t go too far!” Aquafina called. “Lunch will be ready soon.”

“Yes, mom.” Marina rolled her eyes.

The three of them swam around the structure, Delta cooed happily as the cute little fish living amongst the coral, Brooke was silent, as usual.

“So, Brooke. I have been living next door for a while now but I have never seen a male come or go.” Marina tried. “Is there anybody special in your life.”

“No…” She half whispered. “Um…actually-”

“Marina! Look, clownfish!” Delta interrupted. “You almost never see them this deep!”

Brooke shrunk back nervously as Delta swam past like a whirlpool before silently floating off on her own.

“She’s sort of weird,” Delta said, screwing up her nose. “No male, no friends, why did you invite her?”

“Because it's the neighbourly thing to do, " Marina replied. And…I think she needs friends.”

“Maybe there is a reason she has no friends. She’s a stick in the mud.”

“Just…give her a chance.”
Ever since becoming Marina, she’d started looking back on her time as Max with a bit of shame. Charlie could have used a hand becoming more popular, something she could have easily helped with, but instead, she just used him. Now that she was more in touch with her emotions and others, she wanted to be the one to extend a helping hand to those who needed it. Like Brooke, all she needed was a bit of confidence, and Marina was sure she’d come out of her shell.

“If you say so.” Delta sighed. “Hey, Brooke! Come look at the fish!”

Marina smiled when the shy mermaid rejoined them. They lost themselves swimming around the coral growths surrounding their getaway, so much so that it wasn't until they heard Aquafina yelling that they realised how long they had been gone.

“Come on, you lot.” She puffed. “I got lunch all ready, and it’s getting cold.”

“We can’t go back yet. You have to see the little golden fish that were down the edge of the ridge!” Delta squealed. “They are so cute, and I don't know their name.”

“And you think I will?”

“You’re a scientist, aren’t you?”

“I’m a chemist, I don't know anything about fish.”

“Um…girls?” Brooke whispered.

“But you’re so smart I am sure you’ll figure it out.”

“Girls!”

Marina shook her head and swam over to Brooke, ready to explain that once Aquafina and Delta started bickering, they were in their own little world and not to worry. But then she saw Brooke’s face. Her eyes were side with fear and focused on something behind their little group. Slowly, Marina turned and felt her blood go cold.

The shark was huge, easily twice her length, and swimming slowly in their direction. Even from a distance, she could see its white teeth gleaming and the cold, hungry look in its eye. Marina remembered a fact somebody once mentioned to her: that most shark attacks on humans were a mistake. She had no idea if they had a taste of mermaids, though. She didn't want to find out either.

“Delta! Aquafina!” She hissed. “Shuush.”

The two others seemed to notice the tension in the air and turned to see the predator slowly stalking toward them through the blue.

“Oh no.” Aquafina squeaked. “What do we do?”

“Why are you asking me?” Brooke trembled.

Marina looked at the other three mermaids, all shivering in fear. Marina was terrified as well, she desperately wished Charlie was here to protect her, but of course he wasn’t. She would have to protect herself, and the others. The shark was still watching them slowly, all it would take was one quick movement and it would dive toward the group ready to rip them to shreds. She had to keep her head here and stop the others from doing anything stupid.

“W-we should swim, right?” Brooke whispered. On the count of three, we all go in different directions;i-it can't follow all of us.”

“No!” Marina said sharply. “Everybody just stay calm and follow me, slowly.”

The others slowly floated behind her and started heading toward their holiday home. Marina stayed in front, putting herself between the shark and her friends. Her stomach was in a painful knot from nerves, but somehow, she stayed strong. The shark eyed them as they went, almost like it was waiting for an excuse. Finally, they were far enough away that the shark turned and kept going out to sea. Marina let out a shaky breath but didn't take her eyes of the creature until it dully disappeared out into the deep, blue sea.

“Omigosh, you were so brave!” Brooke cried as soon as they were inside, throwing her arms around Marina and squeezing tight. “I was so scared!”

“Me too!” Delta said with tears in her eyes. “I thought we were fish food for sure!”

Aquiafina bristled slightly. Her cheeks were bright pink from embarrassment. Marina gave her a sympathetic smile and squeezed her shoulder.

“Hey, it’s okay. We’re safe now.”

“I know that!” Aquiafina snapped. “I just…I am usually so calm! It’s embarrassing.”

“Better to be embarrassed than dead.”

“Well…when you put it like that.”

They all giggled, but Marina had to force the sound out. Even now, after the nerves had passed, her stomach still felt tight. There was an uncomfortable tenseness in all her muscles that she couldn’t relax, no matter how hard she tried. Despite that, she couldn't deny it felt good to take charge again.

“Are you okay?” Brooke asked.

“Yeah, just feeling a little off. Adrenaline, y’know?”

“If you’re sure.”

Marina forced a brave smile on her face. She couldn't let this little brush with terror ruin their trip. She just needed to get things back on track, and then this whole shark debacle could turn into a funny story they told at parties.

“Let’s not dwell on it.” She announced. “Aquafina, do you think lunch can be salvaged with a bit of reheating?”

“Yes! I will get right on it!”

The scientist seemed happy to have some direction, and the others soon followed her while Marina stayed back. Delta gave her a grateful smile.

“You relax, you saved our tails, the least we can do is serve you some food as thanks.”

Marina did her best to grin. The tightness was getting worse. That couldn't just be adrenaline, surely. Her skin felt almost like it was crawling or covered in pins and needles. She swam back outside, right out over the outcropping to try and get some fresh air (or water, more accurately). As her tail undulated, Marina became increasingly aware of something happening down there. The pussy hidden behind her scale sheath felt tingly, not in the turned-on way, though. She felt hyper-aware of her hole and the fact that it seemed to be subtly changing shape. Then, not so subtly. It almost felt as if it was…filling.

“Ohhh…”

The soft moan escaped her before she could do anything. That full feeling continued, and before she could think, the scales peeled back to reveal something hard and soft all at once. Marina’s eyes went wide: she had a penis again.

“W-what?” She gasped.

Almost in response, she felt her chest tingle, and it shrank. With each breath she let out, the breasts continued to shrink, getting smaller and smaller right before her eyes.

“I…I…”

Realisation crashed over her like a wave; no males were around, none for miles. That shark had made her take charge in a way none of them would have had to otherwise. She'd become dominant…and her metamorphic gene was acting accordingly. There were a few small cracks as her bones reshaped themselves, and she couldn't help but whimper a little as she watched her beautiful hips narrow, taking away her hourglass figure. Soft curves were replaced with hard edges, muscles bulged, and her hair receded back into her skull. Within a few minutes, Max was back. Or at least, his merman body was. Marina didn't know what to think or how to feel; other than panicked.

She flicked her tail and cried out in shock when she went tumbling over in the water; her muscles were so much stronger now, her body so much more hydrodynamic. Without her massive tits, she cut through the water like a barracuda.

“Woah… I’d forgotten what this felt like.”

She experimented and practised moving her body through the water with its new shape. She flexed her muscles and felt the familiar burn as they stretched. It had been so long since she was strong and muscular; it felt good, freeing almost. Her hands pressed against her flat chest as she swam. It felt wrong to have nothing there. She could almost feel the phantom weight of her breasts hanging, but when she pressed, there were only hard pectorals, not to mention the lack of tickling hairs on her back as she moved. Her long red tresses usually swirled around her like a frame, but now her hair was short again; she would be lying if she said she didn’t miss the sensation of the locks against her back.

“Marina? Are you out here, food is ready!” Delta called. “I-Oh!”

The two merfolk stared at one another, both frozen in shock. What was she supposed to say? Delta’s mouth was hanging open; she clearly recognised her friend but didn't know what to say. A wave of dominance washed over Marina and she smiled; it felt good to have such self-confidence, even if her body did feel a little odd.

“It’s me, Delta.”

“I know it’s just…you’re…male.”

“Yeah. I think the shark incident might have activated something.”

Delta circled her a few times, eyes looking her up and down.

“Well, you certainly make a handsome lad, I can see why you were so popular on the surface.” She giggled before her face turned serious. “What are you going to do about Charlie?”

Marina’s stomach churned. Just because her body was male now, didn't mean her feelings had changed? She loved Charlie. He was her male but…she was male now too. At least physically.

“Let’s go talk to Aquafina, she’s a scientist. She’ll know what to do.”

Delta linked her arm through Marina’s and started to swim back toward their home. It felt…odd having a female on her arm. Her broad shoulders bumped against Delta’s soft ones, she could feel the brush of her tail against her own scales. Without thinking, she sped up to take the lead, and Delta naturally fell in line, holding herself close. A tingle of…something ran down Marina’s spine. Not attraction, but contentment. Being in charge and having a submissive female at her side felt good.

When they returned, Aquafina was halfway through explaining her job to Brooke. Marina’s new appearance ended the conversation mid-sentence, and an awkward silence descended over the room.

“Well, don't everybody give their opinion at once?” Marina scoffed. “I’m male. That’s not exactly rare for merfolk.”

“Yes, but…it’s almost unheard of for a mated female to change,” Aquafina said, adjusting her glasses. “But then again, you were oriBrookelly male, so perhaps it doesn't take quite as much for you.”

“Will you change back when you return to Charlie?” Brooke whispered, Marina couldn’t help but notice how flushed she was. Her eyes kept darting between her new body and the floor. Almost as if she was trying not to look.

“Maybe.” She nodded. “But for now, there isn't a lot I can do. Let’s just enjoy the weekend and deal with it when we get back.”

“You’re not going to call and say something?” Aquafina questioned.

Marina bit her lip.

“No. I just…it’s been a while since I felt like a man. I wouldn’t mind enjoying it a bit.”

Aquafina pressed her lips into a thin line in disapproval. She opened her mouth to say something else, but Marina fixed her with a hard look, and she stayed silent. Marina couldn't help but feel a little thrilled, silencing somebody with a single look. Oh, it felt so nice to be dominant again. Even as they enjoyed their lunch, the strangeness of the situation slowly wore off, and she could feel the subtle change in energy. The woman deferred to her without even thinking. Brooke shuffled closer, only to move back when she realised what she was doing.

Marina hated how much she loved it. She loved feeling so strong and in charge again. Her mind wandered; what would it take to get one of those mermaids to kiss her? Aquafina was taken, but she could tell Brooke and Delta were looking at her new body with arousal. Especially Brooke, the timid little mermaid could barely get a few words out without blushing now.

It wasn't that she wanted to cheat on Charlie; it just felt so nice to be desired by women again. Was that wrong? After lunch, she excused herself and went for a swim. The other three were too scared to venture out again after the shark attack, but Marina had no such qualms. If anything, she liked going out and patrolling to ensure her three females were safe. Well, not her females, but…fuck, her mind was so messed up. She couldn’t help but feel protective of them.

“Is it wrong to enjoy this?” She asked the open ocean, hand clasped tightly around her communication shell.

She could be calling Charlie and asking his advice but a part of her wanted to keep this a secret. She loved Charlie. She missed her female body, especially the parts Charlie made feel so good under his touch. But she didn't want to give up this dominance again. She had felt so confident, so sure of herself as Marina. Max was a part of her past, and yet here he was, rearing his head and making her tempted to return to her old life. Where she was the one women fawned over, not her nerdy friend.

Marina had never felt so torn. Did she submit to Charlie and return to the happiest life she had ever known? Or stay male and start her own dominant life with the strength she had so sorely missed? No matter her choice, she would lose a part of herself.
