2015-08-31 16:14:00 +0000 UTCYes, it's a nightmare to get any fine detail with these materials. I tend to prefer metallic paint, but it's not always as nice. It's possible to paint them over in acrylics, but that might not work with your painting, too many techniques :)

2015-08-31 01:09:32 +0000 UTCThe copper leaf is so perfect for him, but it's a shame that it was not applying as easily for you. That probably cannot be helped though as a material is what it is. I think the fact that it's not all flawless shimmer makes it look more realistic. I wouldn't want gold leaf on a circlet for Maedhros, so it was definitely the better choice. I don't think Elves really favored gold as a jewel or adornment metal anyway. I like both versions with and without the copper leaf. It is one of your best of him. My question is will the copper leaf tarnish and darken over time?
