Where did April go??

This month's been worse than I thought - I'm still in the process of marking exams, and will be for another two weeks. :( Sorry, Krista, for the delay with your prompt! It's on my list; I'll get to it sometime in between!

I haven't forgotten the little surprise for the 25$+ supporters! I had a nice and fun idea but haven't had tiiiiiiime. I'll do it over the next few weeks! Promise!

I'll have to exchange next month's raffle prompt for another print (a gilded one, to make up for it). The commission stays unchanged! After mid-May, my schedule will un-clutter noticeably, but until then, I'm totally lost in work, most of it school. The summer will be a lot better. :) Got some ideas for the Nibelungenlied, maybe the Lady of the Lake, and a few commissions will fit in, too!

Glad you survived April and Jana's day went well, MIL not withstanding! I empathise: mine loathes me with a passion - we get endless pointed inspirational internet memes emailed our way XD

Rest well, there is no need to stress over us! We want you healthy and happy ;) Best of luck to you on finalizing the semester!! (Keep that immune system strong!)

Yes, and this spring has been a really forgettable experience! I'll just spent the next two days marking as well under a thick, warm, woolly blanket! ;)

I have to say: I'm glad it's over. I'm from the protestant North of the country, and my vague disapproval of the Catholicism found in rural Western Germany has turned into full-fledged dislike after being exposed to it full blast in two children's first communions (which were wholly for the Catholic in-laws; not even my husband was fully behind it all). I can't say which is worse; the old-fashioned, old testament-style severity with which our poor kids are being treated, or my mother in law's open hostility concerning my housekeeping abilities. XD

Yes, where did April go? I'm wondering that myself too. And I don't even have exam marking to go! So please take your time and it wil all be over within a months time. A Lady of the Lake piece sounds really interesting. And, your daughter's first communion on top of it! Glad to hear it was a great day for her. I really hope it was less stessfull than mine was for my parents, with at one them having to step in the organisation at church, since there were several issues there, and at the other hand dealing with the religiuos differences within the family. I'm pretty sure they were so glad it was over! Really hope it went better for you.

My father is a university professor and I have many childhood memories of him shut in his office grading. You'll get through this, and we'll be here when it's over. On my end, it feels like the spring is simply flying by - summer will be here soon!

And now I'll make you laugh. I had to go in and edit my comment three times. With this new format, I can only see one sentence so I had written it all wrong and bass ackwards.

*hugs* It will be better soon. Each paper graded is one paper closer to having no more grading. I think changing the raffle prompt to a print (and a gilded one at that) is more than equitable. You already do so much for us and bring us so much joy with your art and your spirit and your friendship. It's more important that you get through your work with as little stress as possible and then you'll be able to relax and art!

*hug* It's not because of you! If the last year has taught me anything, it's what a supportive and faithful bunch you all are. :) I am stressed out, but I am stressed out every May because of marking - and this year, the finals (Abitur) were several weeks earlier than usual, because of the early Easter, so I'm stressed out a bit sooner than usual. If I miss out on one prompt, I consider that quite a success. In recent years, I often didn't draw anything all through May. This year was even worse - we celebrated our daughter's first Communion last weekend, which was incredibly stressy (though a great day for her, and that's what counts). The worst are the final exams (Abitur, or A-level exams). On top of those (marking, co-correcting, choosing texts for the orals, and then sitting in the orals), I always have between one and two stacks of exams from Year Seven to Year Eleven that I have to mark every month. My dad warned me, twenty years ago, not to study two mark-heavy subjects, but I wouldn't listen... and all of that is only half a teacher's position! Many of my colleagues have twice that workload.

Oh boy, exam marking. ^^ For how many classes do you have to do this? ... As for the raffle stuff: Why do you want to change the prompt? Because of time issue? I'm sure the winner would also wait for one, two or more months for you to catch up and relax in between. :) Your text sounds as if you stress yourself way too much again because of us. We won't run away, you know. ;)
