Nerdanel's wedding dress
Added 2018-02-03 17:38:38 +0000 UTCThis is the first stage of a commission for a client who wants to give it to his auburn-haired wife as a wedding anniversary present, so Nerdanel in wedding attire sort of made sense! I love Nerdanel. I've always seen her as very slightly dorky, with an easy smile that hides her inner strength. (I almost felt that the first prerequisite to be married to Feanor and raise seven sons would have to be the most amazing sense of humour!)

She has been so neglected by a lot of artists, and I understand since her appearance in the published Silmarillion goes for less than two lines or so. I barely remembered even her name when I finished the book for the first time, but after reading THoME... wow. She became an instant star. I even considered once dying my hair red to match hers! ^^
