Silmarils 1/3

Here's the design for the first, and most intricate, Silmaril! I decided to give the pins a jewel-shape themselves and design them so they could be worn nested into each other. The other two will be slightly easier to do; with waves and fish on the left, and flames and lava on the right.

This morning, I sent off the designs for "open edition" Maedhros and the Kingfisher to a different pin maker. The idea is to see which one has the better quality. The first one I have has better communication and is cheaper, but the other is faster. By comparing the two Maedhroses, it should be easy to see quality differences.

I've gone with hard enamel all the way now - your input helped me a lot yesterday! I think the higher price is worth it.

There's a bit of bad news - I said last weekend that the pin maker I was working with could make multiple designs at the same price. Of course they misunderstood me - of course they can't. This means that new pins won't drop quite as fast; I'll make not much more than the Finweans plus the Silmarils for the next one.

I'll also postpone the full "Sons of Feanor" set, as I will have to make 100 of each design  to make them economically. And while I'm sure I can sell 100 Maglors over time, I'm not sure about some of the C's. ;) Let's be honest; most people will buy them just to complete the set. ;)

A whole new crowd of new Patrons has joined us! We're seeing the final rush of the Special Offer campaign, I think. :) Glad it brought you here, MarineMonstress, Tilda, Iona, Iris, Elesianne, Stanley, Ashfae, and Зоя!

I can't wait for any and all designs and hard enamel is a great choice! Also I would buy the C's--Celegorm and Caranthir are two of my favourites and you can't have them without Curvo.
