*I realize, in case it wasn't clear... I would love to be entered as well... ^^ I also had a question! What is it about your materials that makes them so daunting? (The amusing comment, mad skilled perhaps!)

Alice Styczen

Oh, this is amazing! You are so kind, Jenny! Good luck to everyone who entered!! (February, I'll be able to join! I am so looking forward to it!)

I'm very happy to see that you're still able to paint so beautifully :) Your horses are always stunning and your elf designs are how I imagine all my Tolkien characters now!

Hallashyn

You have to love them <3

Thanks so much, Megan!

Jenny Dolfen

Aw, you are too kind! Much appreciated. :)

Yay, thanks, Charlotte! I think I'll really tackle the art book this year. There's so much really good new stuff that can go in! I completely agree on German vs English Sil (can't say for Swedish, haha). Reading the German one was a chore. The English opened the world for me.

Jenny Dolfen

I like to do a bit of both types of composition if it suits the theme! Thanks so much :)

Jenny Dolfen

Oooh! I really need to read them again.

This is absolutely beautiful! You are one of my favorite Tolkien artists!

Megan Fontenot

I stumbled on this page (and your etsy's) through Tolkien related fb pages and I am glad I did ! You are endowed with pure talent and I am not afraid to say you should be up there with John Howe and Alan Lee. I will most definitely buy one of your prints !

My two favourite Silmarillion characters in another amazing piece! I'd love to enter the giveaway :)

Fantastic as always. <3 I'm amazed by those cool colours with the (relatively) harsh shadows - how they still flow in and out of and dance around one another ... <3 It's always such a joy to follow your art and process, and I'm so glad that even after everything the last year brought you are still going strong and painting. Your watercolours have inspired me for years (they are my favourite medium as well, though I don't make nearly enough time to actually paint) and I also have to join the ranks of those who were inspired by your work to read the Simarillion. :D I think I'll have to give it another round though, I found the German edition a bit dry and lackluster, though I hear the original reads much better ... I also have a Swedish edition around, maybe I'll give that one a go first, haha. Anyway, thanks for doing this givaway, and I really hope you will do that new art book you talked about some days ago! Would love to have that in my shelf. :) <3

Boy, I love Fingon and your rendition of him! And the composition of this piece is really cool - the effect seems much more "casual" (for lack of a better word) than others of your paintings, as if it were a documentary photo. I think it might be Fingon's line of sight combined with the way that he is placed in the extreme foreground and cropped. Btw, I also love your more "staged" compositions, like "Into Mordor". Just something that really jumped out at me here! Best wishes for your health - I hope that your eye condition will get more manageable for you.

So beautiful. I'm reading through the Histories of Middle Earth right now, and love that your work is the background in my head!
