This was by far the most suggested scene when I asked for "iconic Maedhros", so yes, I'm heartbroken to do such a horrible scene. I plan to do something with "Union of Maedhros" soon so he gets a moment of strength (if ill-fated).
There's a fantastic version of this scene by Katharina Karina Chmiel, and I decided to give it a different drive by focusing on, of course, faces while still preserving the close-quarters feel of being cornered.
And dear me, these manikins are so cool! There's little they can't do. I love working with them, even more than with actual models photos, even nude ones, as they accentuate the joints so much! I never know where the elbows go - with these, the structure of a pose is so much easier to grasp!

I missed the "iconic Maedhros" question, but I'd love to see you do one of the moment he stands aside during the ship-burning. And maybe Fingon paralleled on the opposite bank, watching it happen, with the burning ships in between?
