... but I'm off to another paper rant. As you can see, I started this one anew, after the last version clogged up beyond recognition with three or more layers. I'd been determined to just follow through with it, but then the lines started fraying out, making detail work impossible, which was the final straw, sadly. I wonder if some of the papers I have here are simply too old, and got moist once too often over the past few summers. :/
I'm now on Bockingford paper, which has some weird jinks going on with it at times, but seems otherwise well suited to what I want to achieve here. I really ought to just STICK with one paper for a couple of months. (And I can hear you laughing now!)
The beautiful border you see there is called washi tape, a sort of masking tape I've seen other artists use. It's not as strongly adhesive as others, so doesn't destroy the paper when you remove it to reveal a clean border. Unfortunately, it seems so un-adhesive that I think paint has crept under it in one or two places. Ah well.
Welcome to a whole new little crowd that has joined us since my last post! Hi there, Meldawen, Tzigi, and Karen! =D And a big thank you to the patrons who upped their pledges over the last week. That always gives me a fuzzy glow, to see that I must be doing something right (even if it doesn't extend to paper choice!)
