Gosh, sorry for the long silence!

I didn't even realise December is almost over. The dead giveaway is not even Christmas looming ever closer, but the fact we'll see Star Wars tonight. =P

The last two weeks were just too full. Apart from having to drive my son everywhere because of his broken arm (which is healing well - thank you for all the well wishes!), my two Year Tens at school kept me busy. Five people tried to cheat their way through a Latin exam by googling translations under their desks. Some were smart enough to try and pass off the results as their own work; some, hilariously, were not, faithfully copying Latin translations from the eighteenth century - in verse, to boot - into their exam papers and thinking I wouldn't notice all the forsooths. This meant that every exam took an hour to mark instead of twenty minutes, as I had to check every online text for matches. I only finished today. And had a lot of very unpleasant phonecalls with parents.

I will finally finish up the last of the calendars this weekend and start shipping the FIN prints - and finally finish the new pin designs! I'm looking forward to starting the New Year with a minimal backlog of work, and prettily arranged paints that beg to be used.

Since this is the time of year to look back in gratitude, I want to tell you all again what a precious bunch you are. A decade is drawing to its close, a decade in which I firmly found my artistic voice and was able to do a lot of projects, none of which would have been possible without you. <3 I feel truly blessed to have been given the chance to do, and succeed with, so many things. Thank you.

Our students aren't even allowed to use the toilet unless the exam takes longer than 90 minutes! So some students actually took two phones with them - one to hand in, the other to google O_o

As a former Latin student, I couldn't help but smile guiltily at your students' attempts at cheating. I didn't have a mobile to help, but I must have tried every other trick in the book, including hiding cheat sheets in the ladies' toilet and then asking to use it frequently during the exam - I feel so bad for my poor, long-suffering Latin teacher now! Thank you for yet another year's worth of amazing art and so many Tolkien feels - here's to another art-filled year.
