Pin update and MagicCon sketches
Added 2019-04-29 10:16:16 +0000 UTCFirst things first! A couple of people have written to me asking whether I had sent out the Patreon pins yet. I obviously hid my updates too well. ;) So - the pins have been in production (again) for two weeks, and they should be here in mid-May! I'll post photos and updates as soon as I have them, and will let you know when I've shipped all of them. :)
Last weekend was the first con of the year. It didn't go all that well for me - MagicCon used to be RingCon and HobbitCon, respectively, but this year, nearly all the panel guests were from the TV show Lucifer. The dealers, like me, all were used to the Tolkien/GoT crowd (and had set ourselves up accordingly), and most of us had a very slow weekend. The best moments were when friends popped in, and a few Patrons, too! Glad to have Sandra there for a chat and a selfie. :) She even wore my t-shirt! I have found once again that geek shirts are totally lost on me, at least on cons. Every con I've ever been to was too cold for t-shirts, apart from last year's Tolkien Days, which was too hot!
A slow con meant a lot of time to fill my sketchbook. These are just the best ones from the weekend. My eye wasn't up to a lot of detail, and neither was the lighting (or my water brushes).
Remember this idea of Celebrimbor and the Elven Rings? This'll be one of my next paintings!
