Germany's entering another lockdown on Wednesday; our district has already been in lockdown since Saturday, after cases were rocketing. Schools are mostly closed - exams were supposed to be happening, but we had so many students calling in sick or in quarantine that the next exams are cancelled, too.
I've been rotating all weekend. I'd be fine with those lockdowns if you had the chance to prepare. As in, Oh my, cases are rising! Once we hit 200/100.000 people per week, it's lockdown! But if you have an education ministry that openly derides any talk of closing schools, until it decides we'll close them RIGHT NOW, with two days' warning, that's simply ridiculous, majorly stress-inducing and overall very unhelpful in this train-wreck of a year.
Well.
We had a fun (all-German) sketching session last Wednesday, in which Jeff the crazy pheasant saw the light of day, along with cyber ants and an already apocryphal slug mutant. Jeff and the ants will have to be cleaned up a bit. I hope life will finally quiet down at the end of the week, so I can start working on the characters and setting a bit more.
I had some fun with Prismacolor pencils today. I'd bought a set this summer, called "Landscape set", which I liked very much. I haven't drawn in coloured pencil since... the nineties. I quite like the result.
I decided to try around a bit with cyber interfaces, for a more cyberpunk look (but without too disfiguring features). The raven is a character early on in the story; he's the one who gives the little girl the key. He's yet unnamed, but it's definitely Uncle Something.
