Just a quick one today....

... or maybe not quick, but something that would have warranted more time put into it. Considering the time that went into this, I'm not happy with it, but hey, no chickening out!

Today was a lot harder than yesterday. First day of home-schooling the kids. I had told them we'd start at 9 am, dressed, and would work until noon. Well, at 9.30, they were parked on the sofa in their pyjamas with their phones. Took a huge effort to get them to work. I never quite appreciated the fact that, at school, as unwilling to work as they sometimes are, there's normally nobody in their pyjamas.

Went into a town for a few errands. Hardly anyone abroad - apart from old men sitting in cafés, scoffing at "hysteria" not realising it's meant to protect them. I have to say, less interaction sounds like a blessing right now if this is what interaction looks like.

It's utterly amazing how quickly this all goes. Seven days, the first school events were cancelled, and since then, we have gone from cancellation of extracurriculars, then school trips, then school itself, now it looks as if only supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open. I give them half a week at most until total lockdown. I'd better find a way to curb cabin fever here, in order to coax the art muse to descend once more!

I'll probably start on the Valar pin designs. Most of my conventions are postponed, so there's no rush, but there'd be something pretty to look forward to!

Just a quick one today....

It may be quick but it's absolutely gorgeous! Very atmospheric. Best of luck and health to you and your family, Jenny. Here in Finland we're quickly shutting down things now (national state of emergency will be declared tomorrow, and schools will close on Wednesday, etc.) and indeed here too everything is happening so fast that the mind struggles to keep up with it.

This piece is haunting and beautiful. Good luck with the quarantine! Here in Ottawa schools and city recreational facilities are already closed and I’m working from home, even though we are behind Europe in documented cases.

I love the colors and the simple beauty of this piece—something about it reminds me of the Pauline Baynes illustrations! Thank you for these beautiful pieces—they’re such a lovely change of pace in these grim times. Hope you and your family stay healthy and safe! (And entertained!) ❤️

Oh, dear I can relate! Even one of my best friends told me I was giving into paranoia because I thought it was unwise to get out and meet... And there are so many people here in Paris, who are just hanging around in the streets (talking about the COVID19 of course). The lock-down isn't far from us as well.. Ahhh, anyway! As for your art... You may not be happy with it, but i think it's gorgeous ; I also enjoy the stylised lines and monochromatic choice, which are relevant of your talent - meaning, you can convey a lot of things through a (seemingly) simple organisation of lines and colours. I'm not artist, so I might be wrong, but that's how I experience your art <3 In any case, I love it!! Stay safe!

This stark blue palette is stunning! And yeah, here in the USA, things are insane. I was playing a mobile game (Wizards Unite) from my car the other night, and you wouldn't believe the crowds still swarming bars/clubs in my area. I'm self isolating as a massage therapist, trying to decrease any chance of contagion. No telling how long I'll still be working. Not a good time to touch people for a living. 😅

Hang in there, Mommy. ♥️♥️♥️

I love how I never intended for him to be Fingon, but he somehow turned out Fingon and you immediately recognised him. <3

I really like this piece. I love the spareness of the blue and white, the mist and the way the trees reach up, Fingon alert and upright but not rushing. It really speaks to me.
