"I will not lose you again" - an adventure in mixed media!

I used really everything - Procreate for the lineart, normal watercolour for the background, watercolour pencils for the rough colours on the figures, Polychromos for detail, more watercolour pencils for colour effects, for normal watercolour to tie everything together, more Polychromos for the final details. Mixed media deluxe. This is as close to what I always wanted to do as I can possibly get!
Particularly the lighter highlights - why did I never realise how easy it is to get those with a simple white watercolour pencil?? You can even use it to cover mistakes (as when I inadvertently painted the mother's chin blue). I've been chasing so many effects for so many years, and now I find them in what started out as a stopgap.
I still don't know anything about Jax' mother, by the way. We stopped right after the fight last time and haven't played since, so I still have no idea how I happened! ;)

Wow, I LOVE the markings on both of their faces! You can really see the family resemblance.
