I'm working on the wizard cat in Holbein coloured pencils. They were recommended to me by my neighbour at Feencon, Jessika (we constantly exchanged art materials at our tables, haha). She gave me a white to highlight with, and it felt like butter. <3 They're still really durable and layer extremely well, and are easy to sharpen. (They also don't break when they fall, which is paramount for me, ouch.)

They also cost an arm and a leg in Europe, but since we're not going on holiday this year, I decided it was time to SPLURGE.

Working with them - aaah, so much familiarity. Layering pigments on paper is still so, so satisfying. I can never quite switch off my brain when I colour on the iPad, but with coloured pencils, it's just a flow experience, much like watercolour. The size here and the level of detail works okay for my eyes if I take breaks in between. Maybe that's one way to go, too.
