Patreon is rolling out a few new features, one of which seems to be a "community" thing. I'm on the waiting list for it. I have to say, it sounds promising, now that all the homeless Twitter birds are looking for new places to be. The one to make the race seems to be Threads, which is not available in the EU due to its massive data issues, and it feels impossible to get into Bluesky...
I recently read that the age of social media may be over, and forums will be the new place to be. As I've been yearning for the old forum days, that doesn't seem too bad. We'll see how Patreon handles this. I have to say Patreon feels like a cosy safe space right now. I've mostly given up Facebook. I don't know long I have to post pictures of two guys in love until the homophobes finally stop harrassing me with puke emojis and hate speech, but it seems to be longer than a year... sigh. Taking the high road feels more difficult with each one.

Bluesky also looks very much like a Twitter clone, but similar to Mastodon in that its main promise is to be democratic, meaning it's no-ads, your feed is just what the people you follow post, in the order they post it. Because all the toxic Elon fans are still happy on Twitter, Bluesky right now feels like a friendly people haven. If you can get an invite. (I got one from a friendly Patron yesterday so I was able to see it for myself :))
