It had been a long and grueling day at the Maury County Fair. Dozens of women who had wandered through Hip-Know Corp.'s Mesmerizing Mirror Maze were now mindlessly participating in the company's other contribution to the fair, the competition for the best feet.
Ribbons had been given out to the women for various categories. Chantel Smith had won best soles. She had been snapped out of her trance by her husband, but he was given some trigger phrases for her to enjoy later. Rachel Wilson had won best toes and awoke from her mesmerized state when she learned she had won free pedicures for life. And Beth Greene had won best smelling feet. Her husband loaded her up in wheelbarrow and carted her off before she could be woken up. Her face bounced off his chest and face with every bump he hit as he darted towards the parking lot. Best Footwork took multiple rounds of judging and the judges needed time to recharge after "inspecting" each woman, but that award finally went to Daniella Anderson.
But now it was time to give the award to the fairest of the fair, the woman with the best foot forward, the star of the sole show..... Amanda Richards.
She was a little plain looking, but she had all the best traits. Amazingly smooth soles that smelled like buttermilk, well maintained toes that gripped anything that touched them with like a velvety vice and footwork that made short work of most of the judges.
Amanda was given her blue ribbon, but as the crowd clapped, she followed the judges into the back of a Hip-Know Corp. van and driven back to headquarters. This was a fair to remember... or forget, depending on who you were.
