Calico and Sapphire - coloured

(Calico's name is a hot mess, I know. I looked up the word "calico" about 25 years ago because of a Paul McCartney song, and found it meant undyed cloth. I later read that there are calico cats, but never saw a picture of them, so I assumed it meant a cream-coloured cat. Now I found out that in the US, "calico cats" are what you'd call "turtoiseshell cats" in the UK but by then I'd fallen in love with the name and now it's TOO LATE. ;)
My first Bard ever! =O I've never played one. She fights with a battle lute and an array of fun spells.

Tortoiseshells are called "lucky cats" in Germany, but I can't remember ever seeing one! They're really rare here. I saw a few in the UK though.

2023-05-05 16:50:12 +0000 UTCCalico looks so innocent, I know she must be up to something! π€£ Calico and tortoiseshell cats (at least as understood in the US) are so interesting! Itβs the same set of genes that causes both fur patters, but calicos have solid blocks of color, while tortoiseshells are dappled with the same colors. And like 99% of them are female, and the remaining 1% of males are mostly sterile! I had a tortoiseshell cat years ago, and she definitely had what they call βtortietudeβ - she deigned to allow me to live in her presence. Most of the time. But I was definitely her favored servant. XD

2023-05-05 16:44:37 +0000 UTCOh, I just remembered I did play a bard in MERP (Middle-earth Role-Playing) thirty years ago, but I can't even remember ever using spells. He was called Finglor Gildorion, from Lindon, and he was complete overkill. XD
