This was a very prolific streak between 2003 and 2004. Most of these - apart from the one of Maedhros getting captured - were painted in black and white watercolour and coloured digitally in Photoshop. The Captured one was again actual watercolour, and I think I never did that Watercolour+Photoshop thing again afterwards, as it was missing some of the characteristic looks of real watercolour.
There are a few real classics here, including the image that brought a host of rabid fangirls down upon me chastising me for drawing Fingolfin dark-haired, when the thing they should have been chastising me for was Finrod looking like Uma Thurman.
