Emergency Update
Added 2017-08-07 07:20:12 +0000 UTC
I know this is inauspicious timing, perhaps even suspicious with this being so early on, but I've had a family emergency.
What Happened:
My younger brother was in a really bad accident. I won't go too much into detail, but we still aren't certain that he will survive, though thankfully it is looking hopeful at this point. He has several skull fractures, including one of the orbital bone for his left eye. He had an arterial brain bleed, and was airlifted from the regional hospital to a larger hospital in Columbus that could do the necessary brain surgery. After removing part of his skull, they were able to drain 8 oz. of blood from the bleed, and believe they were able to stop the hemorrhaging. He is in a coma, and we'll know more later.
My Activities:
I will be flying from Guam back to the states to visit him in the hospital. It's a long trip, but I will be continuing to work on AW. Frankly, it's easier to think about the game than my brother, and I won't be able to do much else in a hospital waiting room and on the plane.
Potential Impacts
I still think that the next release will be on schedule
I won't be going to work during this time, and I'll have about 36 hours of travel time with layovers and flight time to get home. I'm going to keep working on the clothing generator and Bullseye map location. It might even turn out that I'll get more done than I planned, particularly since the clothing generator work has been going well, and JavaScript integration has been a little more straight-forward than I was expecting.
That said, I'm not sure how my writing quality will be. Fortunately there is only a small fiction segment before Lily goes to work and the pc heads to Bullseye. That was all that was planned, but I'll probably avoid starting the evening dialogue with Lily that I was planning to work on if I ended up ahead of schedule, and instead focus on coding.
The biggest impact will likely be that I won't be able to respond to forum posts, messages, and comments on a reliable basis. I'll try to keep up when I can, but forgive me for possibly being a little brief or slow to respond.
Contingency
- This isn't a request for donations or anything else, though your support and well wishes are certainly appreciated.
- If things take a turn for the worse, or I won't be able to make the release, I will stop billing on Patreon. (Billing isn't until the start of September.)
- Even if the work isn't completed as planned for the next release, I will release what IS completed by the original date, and do another release a day or two later with all the planned work completed.
Sorry about this everyone.

2017-08-07 19:29:10 +0000 UTCThe fact that you updated us AND that you are worried about overbilling us has me confident that you aren't in this to milk people. Please take your time and best wishes to your family. Hope everything turns out the best it can.

2017-08-07 12:10:38 +0000 UTCDon't stop the billing. We trust you will come back from this even stronger. We don't get any benefits from donating anyway. It's just a token for your efforts to create a game we like. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Have faith, your brother will survive. I believe in him, you should too. Now take time off and come back to us. We will be waiting :)
