The 6 girls have such a great chemistry from the first episode and it’s a great show! I know you mostly react to BTS content or recommended K-Dramas but I hope you atleast consider hmlycp!!

2023-12-02 22:47:41 +0000 UTCI love their energy together! They actually seem like a family hehe. And yeah btw I dont know if you know, but in Korea formal and informal speach is very important. It's not just saying "miss" or "mr" etc., but words change or something gets added to the end of the word. For example "Me" is "na" in informal and in formal it is "jeo", or "Hello" is "Annyeong" in informal and "Annyeonghaseyo" in formal. You also need to put endings on peoples names like "nim" or "ssi" which is basically "mr" or "mrs" in english, or add "noona" (big sister for boy), "unnie" (big sister for girl), "oppa" (big brother for girl" or "hyung" (big brother for boy). I think you have noticed bts use "hyung" many times already. You rarley find Jungkook talk about the other members without saying "hyung" behind their name (only when he is joking). He also need to speak formally to all the members since everyone is older than him. Jin on the other hand doesnt need to at all. He can just use informal speach to everyone since he is the oldest. It is because it is considered rude for a younger person to talk informal to an older one. It is only if you are close or a family if you can drop the formalities. So bts does drop it often since they are so close and basically a family, but Jungkook doesnt go around speaking informal to Jin all the time. So yeah, it is very complicated and it isnt something that you can compear with the english language, but I hope my comment helped a little hehe 😅It doesnt really help either when you cant tell by the translations if they speak formally or informal, or know the level of formality. I have noticed they often drop writing "hyung" when they translate in bts videos or in kdramas, but it is probably beacuase most people would get confused since they dont know what it means.

Moomins are really popular in Europe, maybe not with the youngest generation tho... they're technically for children but i think that adults can enjoy them as well, they have this universal feel and message to them

And how they have to talk to older people a certain way? Well informal talk time just means a period where that goes away. Meaning the person who won it doesn’t have to speak formally. So Seojin is the oldest, so it doesn’t particularly benefit him lol since he is the one that will likely get talked “down” to. He is the oldest so he already doesn’t HAVE to speak formally to the others.

You guys were right you recognised a fewof the celebrities like Lee Kwang Soo who used to be on Running Man, Cho Sae ho who is the co-host for Yoo Quiz and Gong Yoo from Train to Busan. Also the timing at 8:50 was for the show in Korea which was on the TVN network… it was on prime Amazon outside of Korea and internationally. It was actually the first time that a Korean variety show was shown on prime due to Tae and BTS’s international fame. Also Seo Jin broke up with his actress ex in 2007/2008 so it’s been a long time hence they can joke about it now… he even famously went to live in Hong Kong for a while after the break up which they also now joke about. 💜
