Break The Silence Episode 6

Comments

The dancers know how to do the flairs without tripping up the choreo. Like Jimin, you'll notice he's given the greatest amount of travel time throughout the dances, but he'll add spins or slides to bring out the performance. That's a dancers technique. The other 4 are dancing the choreo and that's it. That's why they blend. They all conserve energy at times when they practice....when they don't it practice, is when they need to figure how much energy each kove takes to know how they'll be on stage or if they need to adjust the set list. You guys should check out the behind the scenes on certain shows. You did the Seoul Final, there are behind the scenes for just that show. You'll see more how individual members view dance and how they correspond their moves.

Speaking of grand finale, u were right. They were preparing for some kind of grand finale then, with all the overwhelming year-end performances of Dionysus, preparations for their Map of the Soul Tour. Since Jin was supposed to enlist in military after MOTS tour (2020) bec he was already reaching the end of the age limit accepted for delaying. Until COVID happened, then they released Dynamite and reached another milestone, then the passing of BTS Law, days before Jin becomes 28 allowing them to extend the age for conscription til 30. It was only supposed to be til 28. RM talked abt them with Bang PD planning their albums years ahead, so it was all planned accdgly. Not disbanding but they knew they were going to pause for a while so maybe that was what they were talking about when it would end bc as far as I know, that time they just renewed their contract that would've expired year 2020 and new contract will expire I think this year 2024 or 2025. They were already prepared to venture out when Covid happened, that ruined their plans but they made history yet again. So many things happened to them during pandemic, w/c were overwhelming for them maybe bc it was unplanned. Everything they've put out after MOTS were. They could never predict it. That was the time they started to reevaluate their life as a group & as an artist & revisit their original plans before. I think after overcoming their struggle before when they were considering disbanding, it was never on their mind again nor giving up the group bc even in past docuseries or interviews afterwards, they all mention performing and being together for a long long time til they're too old to sing on stage. But I agree, there was a shift in their mindset after pandemic, bc they got a taste of not performing with an audience, they were more eager afterwards to perform & showcase their talents individually. They've waited long enough & immediately grabbed the opportunity presented to jump start their solo careers. - Sorry for the long comment! Just wanted to share 🫰

I’m like, a whole week late, but considering those who work under/for BTS, we’ve seen them in the credits of other Big Hit / HYBE groups & soloist during their hiatus, so it seems that BHM and HYBE have dissolved some teams so they can assist and train the newer staff who will work for the newer groups till the guys return. This way (when BTS does decide to land) they can rejoin the teams that assist those other groups. (In the past 3 years, their company has debuted 5 new groups, one debuting two weeks ago. Also, there are two more girl groups, who have already revealed their line ups, that are set to debut this year. Under the label of HYBE, they currently have 11 active/soon to be active groups. Since 2018, Big Hit seems to have also been planning and figuring out a way to be able to stay afloat when BTS decides to end, and it seems that they’ve now figured out how to come out as top dogs in the industry overall.)

This is so, so well put, and I couldn't agree more. I'm only a 2020 army, but I've dove deep into their content of pre-2020, and even though I wasn't there at the time, I can visibly see the shift in their mindset compared to the present. The pandemic (and aftermath) also opened their eyes I think, to what work/life balance COULD be– to what solo/group balance COULD be. It's pretty clear in the latest interviews/content they've made, that they've shifted their mindset to continue as bangtan into their old age (bangtan grandpas lol). Of course, their content output, touring frequency, etc will change. But I think it's amazing that they have full intentions to grow old with their fans.

I totally agree that the pandemic probably changed their thoughts on when they'd "let go" of bangtan. Up until this point in the documentary (filmed in 2019), their lives were NONSTOP bts, nonstop recording, touring, making content.. it's no wonder they felt like they'd need to let go someday. But the pandemic seems to have broadened their perspective on how to make BTS last, for the long, long run. And it involves rest.

I gagged at the mention of Mariah Carey lol

This tour took place in 2019

Heheh. That app as you called is a DAW, digital audio workstation and it is where we music producers work. It is not an easy tool so props to the boys for composing and producing themselves as always. Some Daws have their own mobile version and then they can exchange data with other devices. If you ever see docs where the boys are working in the studio you will see similar programms on the screens.

Rose’s little cameo??? Oh my heart 🥹😭💜

On the topic of "letting go" as they talked about it a lot here: Wesley hit the nail on the head I think. COVID changed everything. You guys will probably get to understand this more when you watch the new docu series but I remember coming in at the beginning of 2019 and while it was clear that it was their biggest year yet and they had really hit their stride as superstars, I could tell in the back of my mind there was this feeling of winding down or preparing for a grand finale of some kind. I think it was a time when they were really reevaluating the future of the group and they did talk pretty frequently then about a vague "someday" when all of it would come to an end. But as they said pretty poignantly here, there's no way for them to predict even what would happen in the next year and when COVID wrecked all their plans for their Map of the Soul era wrap up tour AND gave them a taste of what the end of BTS might be like by taking away their ability to perform with fans, I think it changed their thoughts a bit. In these past couple of years I can tell they've grown much more attached to this mindset of not giving up on it and going forward no matter what. It might be one of those "you had to be there" things but I think anyone else who witnessed these past 5 years with them in real time could tell you they felt that shift. I also think it gave them time to figure how they could modify the great machine of the idol group concept to fit their growth as people and artists and accommodate their new needs without necessarily having to disband the group.

I was at the Wembley show where we surprised bts! Basically a lot of us didn't even know it was happening (there was actually some drama because I think French army's originally planned it or something? So there was a bit of upset there but all the people around me at least didn't know it was happening) so during the break prior yo the encore some messages showed up on the big screen basically saying "we're gonna surprise bts so when "army time" shows on screen sing young forever" so it truly was a genuine surprise for bts and it was a VERY emotional moment 🥲 I cried for most of the show but as soon as the surprise happened I truly didn't stop until like 10 mins after the whole show ended ☠️ the boys gave really special speeches after the surprise and it was an incredible moment (oh for context the song we sang was "young forever" and it's a pretty special song to army's and bts). Jungkook and jimin actually continued to cry through mikrocosmos too, it was very heartbreaking to see live 🥲🥲 when jk went to give his speech he had to take a moment to compose himself and we all started chanting his name to cheer him up and then we just ended up doing it for all of them lmao :') it was so special and possibly my favourite memory I have (outside or the whole 2 concerts I've been to of theirs lol),, OH also the Wembley shows happened in 2019! The really hard year they had where they considered disbanding was 2018 which is why bts wer3 reflecting on it here! (Knowing its 2019 makes all the "we'll be back next year" moments very heartbreaking 💔) sorry for the long ass coment

london armys singing young forever at bts is probably my favourite army moment ever. i remeber clips of it hitting the timeline and i was just bawling my eyes out whole evening. it always makes me emotional, even now, years later

In my opinion, V is not an underrated dancer. However, when compared to the three j's, he is considered to be the fourth best dancer. This is the opinion among the majority of the army. oohh i'm not sure if she already said who her bias is but i think steph is a V bias lol she always mentions him

Steph, you mentioned that you like V's dancing. He did a short "smoke" dance challenge that you will like. I can't find the official video, but here's one on YouTube: https://youtu.be/zOwR2DH0dok?si=a52MR5AvOWR_yRde

omg rose the surprise guest was so cute!! ☺️ I think she said “Lachlan’s hungry” referring to her brother. I was pleasantly surprised 😊

The members have talked about wanting to be together for years now but there has definitely been a change in energy over the past couple years or so. It sort of went from ''let's stay young forever'' to ''let's grow old together''. It's a small change but it feels very significant, especially considering how often they've been saying it just during the past year alone.

tannie misser

The "dumbling incident" is the infamous argument jimin and taehyung had over dumbling which resulted in them not talking to each other for 2 weeks (and we know they're bestfriends literally). They've talked about that incident in more detail 2 times. One of them is during one of their BTS FESTA (2019 I believe, might be wrong tho). This is also why I can't wait for you guys to get back into festas hehe

Leenseoh

I love watching these documentaries with you guys

Rasha

if you have not read the lyrics to outro: tear i definitely recommend doing it (doolset or some good lyrics video), the lyrics are heartbreaking, and the way armys had absolutely no idea that it was about the members until suga said it in this documentary
