In just a few episodes, the anime ranked No. 1 all time on myanimelist. Frieren is remarkably well-written, dealing with a multitude of deeply human, and sometimes philosophical, themes in a way that is rarely done. The manga is enhanced by the work of Madhouse, which has produced its most accomplished work ever, both visually and in terms of animation. The prod-value for an anime series is insane. In many ways, time is central to Frieren's thematic narrative. Never before has a work treated it from so many different angles, leading to reflection and emotion. The anime doesn't forget to be pretty badass too at times. Keep paying attention to details, whether in the writing or the direction: they have been given special care and make sense. In a few episodes, you'll already have a more "complete" perception of what you've been watching all along :). As I said, it's just remarkably well written.
