A!

Season Two coming in December 2024...

She actually did see a big clue when she was in the vent. She just didn’t recognize it bc she’s from North Korea. You guys knew it was cookies but those cookies are made by melting sugar. They’re commonly sold at street vendors in SK. They’re not really shown in the media anymore but back in the mid 2010s (when I got into Korean culture) I saw them all the time. All that to say, even I, an American, immediately knew what the next game would be when I saw them melting all that sugar + the shapes they told them to choose πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Since they really lean into it this episode, here’s the hierarchy of the workers: Circle: grunt workers, always doing the most work Triangle: the gun men, rule enforcers Square: spokesmen/leaders, they are the only ones allowed to speak w/o being spoken to and are able to relay their judgment in various situations (as long as it coincides with the rules/the front man’s orders) Also note that there is always only 1 square for every β€œtroop” (roughly 20 workers). If you pay attention, you’ll notice them kinda go around in pods/troops: 1 square, 5 triangles, 10-15 circles (rough estimates)

for the lunchbox thing, the contestants got a old school lunch boxes to more fit the children's game concept while the guards got more prison type trays.

I wouldn’t look into the workers lunch trays too much, those are the same type of lunch trays used in school and workplace cafeterias in SK πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ earlier in the episode the contestants were simply given an old school lunch box (hence why they looked different)

This is what I'm taking about!!!!!

The social commentary becomes more and more obvious and multi-dimensional as the show progresses! The creator really did a great job incorporating depictions of different societal structures and systems, even aside from the obvious commentary on capitalism. Can't wait for next week's episode!
