Yea, I’m a bit sad they speed ran the journey, lot of interesting cultural things like this were cool.

2024-06-13 03:22:26 +0000 UTCA LOT of content from the light novel has been cut for this trip, adding a lot of lore and detail. But that's understandable, as there aren't many episodes left to complete this arc before the end of the season. They've made the (right) choice to focus on what's most important.

2024-06-03 01:55:55 +0000 UTCyeah it was about 170 pages of content (for all the episode not just the trip) right there but overall, only one important scene was missing imo. The rest is nice lore about the continent but it never really pay off later so it's a nice decision to skip some of it to focus on what come next.

2024-05-30 09:55:11 +0000 UTCI haven't read the LN, but I've heard people say the entire trip was about 200 pages where they go into heaps of world building. So the pacing was super quick. Apparently the white creature in the ep is the same creature as those bones we see over the village/city - its basically a whale with elephant legs.

2024-05-30 06:58:08 +0000 UTCsuccubus is too op needs nerf. Imagine you have a party that only has men in it. The whole party would just get wiped out by one succubus lol.

2024-05-30 02:41:41 +0000 UTCIn general, the perception of characters shifted so much in this show. Other great examples are Eris, Cliff, and Zenoba.

2024-05-29 22:02:23 +0000 UTCthis episode was basically an entire novel condensed into the second half of this one episode

2024-05-29 21:55:45 +0000 UTCthey skip over a TON in this episode, but the succubi are commonplace in beggaritt and they dont effect women, hence why elinalise was okay, and why all adventuring and merchant parties have women in them to fight, and then, since not all parties had people who could use detoxify magic,in the beggaritt culture, it was the adventuring womens job to sleep with affected memebers of the party to clear them of the effect, a task that was considered very respected, but as such the women would sometimes fall pregnant,in which case they would leave to raise the children communally with other kids born of similar circumstance. Unfortunately the anime skipped basically everything to do with the culture of beggaritt, rudeus's first human kill(s), and several characters. i understand why, and agree that if anything were to be cut from this novel it should be that stuff, but still sad to see, and i suggest to everyone who reads this to read the novels if you can, they are amazing and supplement the show really well, you can always only read up to where the anime is if you dont want to spoil what happens in the anime and watch it first

2024-05-29 21:54:58 +0000 UTCit was like 10-15 minutes rudeus was waiting, simply implying that teleports arent INSTANT even if it feels like it when YOU use it

2024-05-29 21:37:33 +0000 UTCone of my favorite details about mushoku tensei in the novels, when you mentioned rudeus reating to naming the baby before they left as a superstition? in the novels, like you were wondering, he does indeed hold onto and use phrases from our world which lead to confusion because no one around him understands what he means because in this world they have no meaning, which is also brought up when he meets nanahoshi, because he uses a phrase from their world and nanahoshi remarks that its nice to hear a phrase from her homeland

2024-05-29 20:07:59 +0000 UTCAll of this exposition is given in the LN as they're entering the city, so I imagine this info will be given at the beginning of the next episode and this is probably a spoiler

2024-05-29 18:21:10 +0000 UTCThanks for the reaction!! From here, the rescue mission starts, and its great, because we can finally see Roxy again, she has been helping Paul for more than a year. The skeleton we saw at the end was a behemoth that north god kalman II and his comrades killed. After they killed it, they celebrated eating his meat, but they left the corpse there. With time, monsters started making nest, those monsters died, mutated because of the mana in the meat and corpse. The different species kept evolving, until the mana in the behemoth's corpse and the different species all fused and created different labyrinths. That's why the city is called Rapan, the labyrinth city. North god kalman II, was the 7th place in the world powers, right now the one that has that place is Kalman III.
