2024-06-04 16:20:11 +0000 UTCdomodachi feels like it could be the soundtrack for an old Japanese movie about a serial killer.

2024-06-03 07:54:37 +0000 UTCby the way, I saw Steph mentioning that people were saying in the comments that there are some problems with the company there is actually a lot going on so just to give a bit of context "boracity magazine" made a short video explaining the drama simply, and shortly you can watch it on your own it explains everything. and "boracity magazine" is an amazing channel so don't worry, her videos are amazing and so well made and researched army all love her I saw people on YouTube recommending to watch it too. here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGwKwPHpJWM Edit: I am pretty sure the link I gave before is for her channel and not the specific video, I changed it now but the video is called "About the current smear campaign against BTS".

2024-06-02 02:05:21 +0000 UTCdamn Namjoon is such an artis I can't believe how much he loves doing music to write and produce this album and I feel with every song he actually makes us think about all the meanings that song could have, I'm so proud of him and you can never know what genre he is going to release but you know it's going to be sooo good! I loooooove all the album but my favorites are Nuts, Groin and Domodachi, I'm obsessed with this masterpiece thank you guys for the reaction and your thoughts

2024-06-02 01:51:54 +0000 UTCfeel like namjoon would love and appreciate your reaction so so much !!! can't wait for the mini moni video... also my favs right now are definitely groin and heaven - i'm so obsessed with the rawness and uniqueness of this whole album 🫶🥰

2024-06-01 23:21:13 +0000 UTCSame! I was shocked at first since overall the album isn't a sound I'm used to. But *especially* after watching the MiniMoni video of RM explaining the purpose of the album, the message and music resonates so much more. Definitely grows on you.
Seneca
2024-06-01 22:15:05 +0000 UTCAlso for Groin, army speculate the lyric "get your a** out the trunk" is referencing people who try to hitch a free ride on bts, essentially riding bts' coattails to further themselves. Like RM is saying just leave me/us alone, we only represent ourselves
Seneca
2024-06-01 22:13:45 +0000 UTCi first listened to the album while i was feeling sleepy (cause i was too stubborn to wait and take a nap) and the experience felt a little bit like a fever dream i'm ngl

2024-06-01 22:02:25 +0000 UTCReally loved your thoughts about wrong place being about someone's mental state, it's a great interpretation! This album is genuinely one of my absolute favourites ever, rm is so talented and surrounded himself with other talented artists to create such a phenomenal piece of work!

2024-06-01 21:27:28 +0000 UTCThey aren't allowed to make content and music in the military and then uplaod it + i dont think they have time for that because of hectic military schedule, so everything they put out now and in the future is pre-filmed :) They worked hard before they went so that ARMY would have new content while they were away.

2024-06-01 21:23:57 +0000 UTCThis is gonna be a bit long (sorry lol) but when Come Back To Me initially dropped it reminded me so much of The Midnight Library novel, where the main character, Nora, basically tries to live different versions of her life but none of them feel right except for her own. The book's premise is that there's a place between life and death, the midnight library, in which the shelves go on forever and every book there represents regrets in the life she lived (eg. failed relationships, family issues, etc.) and each of these books provide a chance to try and live the different lives that could've been hers. With this is mind, you could draw parallels between the books (regrets) from the midnight library and the doors/rooms from the MV as they both give a peek into a life that could've been, had they only made different decisions. At the end of the book and the MV, both Nora and Namjoon realise that their current lives ARE the best version of their lives, and they go on to live them without any regrets. Namjoon is seen eyeing and trying to open that one specific door with the three small circular windows(?) here and there during the MV, which could be the door to his actual life? The life, or the ''door'' he's yearning for is HIS life (reinforcing the ''this version of your life is the best one'' theme). The lyrics also kind of point me to that same direction. ''I see you come back to me'' could be Namjoon from the end of the MV singing it to the Namjoon from the start of the MV. Like ''you can explore your regrets and peek around at the lives you could've lived but this is the life you'll always come back to in the end''? The line ''Now I can see what life is about'' also makes me think this is present day Namjoon singing to past Namjoon. I could be totally off and be reading too much into it especially in context with the rest of the album but I wouldn't be surprised if he got inspo from the book since this type of theme has come up with Namjoon before too, like in his Weverse posts, letters and interviews. During Festa 2022 he specifically talked about the possibility of a multiverse where Kim Namjoon is just a regular office worker who doesn't do music at all. He said he's lucky and thankful that in this version of the universe he decided to do music, that he was able to meet the other members, and that he believes this to be the best version of the universe.

2024-06-01 20:09:31 +0000 UTCMy favourites at first was Domodachi, nuts, groin but after going back to the album so many times, I really can't choose!! 😭
Honey
2024-06-01 19:38:28 +0000 UTCdomodachi is a japanese word that combines "domo" meaning thank you and "tomodachi" meaning friends, so we can say that domodachi means "thank you friend". for around the world in a day, I read a very good interpretation of the song that it is about lies or rumors spreading fast around the world and I think it makes sense. so many rumors being spread about namjoon and bts that will immediately blow up around the world within a day. "I love 'em all your lies / only time will sort it out / if it's right, if it's wrong, then I'll tell you". i love this album so much!!! jimin was right, namjoon really poured everything he was feeling into this album.

2024-06-01 19:28:49 +0000 UTCI feel similarly about Around The World In A Day and making peace with the chaos and darkness! Your commentary on that reminded me about how Namjoon's bio was ''rage and grace'' at one point and that kinda sums up the whole album imo. So cool!

2024-06-01 19:15:41 +0000 UTCThe sounds in this album are so crazy. Its not my usual style of music but I absolutely loved it.... I found myself constantly relistening

2024-06-01 19:15:26 +0000 UTCI was so excited about your reaction to the album. my favorite song is Around a World in a Day and Nuts but all the songs in the album are amazing. can't wait to see your reaction to rm conversation with Jimin. 12:20 I think this line is also targeted at all the people who got mad at Namjoon when he posted a picture of himself smoking. I am so glad he is telling them it's his business it's so annoying when people forget BTS are grown men. I remember when JK released the explicit version of Seven and people said it was too explicit like he isn't a grown man who can sing about this stuff like other artists.

2024-06-01 19:08:41 +0000 UTCfor me this album has a cohesive story that ends with a conclusion - come back to me. after going through a lot of things, getting angry about it, looking for ways to fix it, he starts accepting it in ? (interlude), that maybe he's lost but he's fine with it so he realizes that after everything that happened he still has himself, his peace is unbreakable. so come back to me is actually coming back to himself, his feelings can hurt him but he still loves himself no matter what.

2024-06-01 18:50:42 +0000 UTCI loved this album so much it was like he finally completely let loose and experimented as much as he could. I already knew he had a good ear for production but this album solidified it for me. It’s like he made RM(his mixtape from 2015) but with all his experience and growth. I can’t completely express how much I’m obsessed with this
wildflowersam
2024-06-01 18:17:35 +0000 UTCNot sure if you remember but Namjoon briefly mentioned starting a new project in his PSick interview! Also this project was done before he left to serve, as they're not legally allowed to film/record anything during enlistment that'll be monetized.

2024-06-01 18:10:30 +0000 UTCThis album was definitely not made for the charts– very experimental and alternative. And I love that! It reminded me a bit of his very first mixtape from 2015, where he (just like Suga) was frustrated with the shit he was getting from other k-rappers just for being in an idol group. His first mixtape was full of venom. But what sets this new album far apart from his first mixtape (besides the genre) is that in 2015 he was desperately trying to prove himself. Here, he’s already proven himself and isnt trying to show off. He’s authentically himself without the pressure of judgement and that’s so beautiful to me. So glad to hear that yall are gonna watch his conversation with Jimin! It’s very insightful💜
