This is why patience in story writing is needed. It’s unfortunate that people dropped VS in season 2 because they expected this show to be all about fighting and Vikings.

2024-10-11 18:42:48 +0000 UTCAnd it’s a great thing he did, it shows us how Thorfinn’s character arc progresses, and it is truly amazing to see, which makes sense that it’s garnered as one of the top three Seinen. That being said, I have read Vagabond and Berserk, and would say that the main character’s growth is a core crux of why it’s amazing, or maybe that’s what seinen means, I never got to knowing the full definition of the genre besides it being like teens or adolescence like most of the characters go through.

2024-10-11 18:36:05 +0000 UTCI don’t think Floki would serve that role, although Askeladd was the person to kill his father Thors, Askeladd had served his role as a surrogate father for Thorfinn in a way, which builds his character and having a strong conclusion finish for the first part (aka the prologue), genuinely forgot that it was titled that.

But when he was on the verge of the end of his life, he made sure Thorfinn didn’t come with him I hadn’t thought about him like that right up until I was going to write this scene. They were Askeladd’s own words, I can’t think otherwise.”

2024-10-10 17:55:16 +0000 UTCAskeladd killed his own father, killed Thorfinn's father, and killed Canute's father, but ended up dying as a father figure to Thorfinn. And yes, this season is just a prologue. The original story was supposed to start with season 2, but the publisher didn't feel like it could sell, so the author created this backstory.
