Alice In Borderland S2 Episode 3

Loved your take on Tatta's flashback, I've never heard that sentiment worded so well :) Recognizing the flaw in his thinking without deriding him for it. For how genuinely terrible and irredeemable Niragi is, he isn't exactly wrong about Arisu. I think that's the most positively frustrating thing about him, that someone so horrible can clock that on a base level Arisu IS the same as him, when we might not see why on the surface. They've both lived on the rock bottom of society and of despair, without any relief from the torment of daily life or any purpose. But then Arisu's support system in Karube, Chota, and especially Usagi, showed him that there is more to living. Now he is someone who is moving forward with purpose, believing in something, desperately searching for answers. (I don't think the answer he asked Kyuma for was really whether they could go home or how the games work. i don't think it was anything that concrete. Which is another reason I'm glad Kyuma chose not to answer Arisu's questions. And despite having his secret plan, I am confident every word Arisu told Kyuma was sincere though. In a very morbid but real sense, that's likely why Arisu insists there's no trick with him and Tatta's final move, because it wasn't based in the intent to deceive, but rather sincere, life-on-the-line teamwork. It not only reflects the first battle in the game being Arisu and Kyuma's sincere 1v1 handshake rather than a trick, but also the suicide run that Kyuma's team did on our base) And that mindset has its own flaws, as the finale of the show displays so beautifully, but to someone like Niragi, someone who wondered if he "became twisted because people hated him or if people hated him because he was twisted," either option making his horrible nature into a passive fact, Arisu is shining, undeniable proof that he is wrong. That someone like them CAN get better, CAN make something of themselves. And if that's true, then Niragi's various crimes and awful actions are entirely his own choice, his own fault, instead of a product of his circumstances. Niragi strikes me as someone who would rather die than admit that, which is why he hates Arisu so much. That would also make it more meaningful that he talked to Usagi when he assaulted her about various crimes being outlawed because they were natural urges, something factual and unavoidable. He believes the world to be that way because then he does not have to take responsibility for his own actions, he does not have to admit that it is his own fault that he has not redeemed himself. I wish he would have died this episode though lol

Hell yeah

The games in Season 2 so far have been very cool and interesting. Also, isn't this the first Hearts game where you literally couldn't lose if you had at least one trustworthy friend with you? Usually, the Hearts games incentivize friends to fight and betray each other, so it's weird that almost everyone in that Jack game apparently joined solo - besides the "couple" maybe?
