Solo Levelling S2 Episode 11

Comments

So when this season dropped they dropped the video for the opening song on YouTube with these singers and the dude with that deep baritone almost bass voice is absolutely tiny. Like he can’t be more than 5’5, 120lbs.

Joshua Finkelstein

I just realized…. Baeks remote viewing is like Inosukes spatial awareness fifth form. And they’re both kind of beast like.

@eXxCeZz I’ve already addressed your point in my previous responses to other comments. This question feels like one of the most disingenuous rhetorical moves I’ve encountered—the false equivalency between “being called into work” and “helping to prevent a catastrophic event” is just absurd. He’s not heading to a 9-5 job where the only one benefitting is his employer. He’s actively working to stop a national threat and save lives. This will be my final response, as the same points are being repeated without engaging with the previous replies I’ve already given. I don’t know what I was thinking responding at all. What a waste of time.

Crimson

Oh wait, this is the episode my friends and I were freaking out about. We watched this and the last one back to back so I forgot they were two separate episodes lol! God this episode was crazy!

Imagine your mom is a coma for 10 years possibly longer. She finally wakes up, but you get a call from work you got to go in this weekend, you going or spending time with your mom you haven't been with for 10 years?

eXxCeZz

@Math Rick Hey man, no worries about the long post—I’ve written an entire novel in this thread on my day off for absolutely no reason. I completely get your frustration, I really do. But bear with me for a second, because you have information that I don’t. When exactly did this recon take place? Was it right before the raid? How thorough was it? Did they scan the entire island, including the queen’s den? And most importantly—who conducted it? Was it the raid team or Jin-Woo himself? If the recon was recent, extensive, and personally carried out by Jin-Woo, then I can see why he’d feel confident staying back. But if he wasn’t directly involved, how could he be so sure that Goto was strong enough to handle the ants? Did he sit in on a briefing? He has nothing to compare Goto to. From my perspective, he had little to no firsthand information to base that assumption on. Now, as I mentioned in my previous post, I do understand why Jin-Woo chose to stay home. He wanted to be there for his mom, who had just woken up from a coma, and he didn’t want to stress her out. But for me, that just doesn’t feel like a strong enough reason. He was willing to risk the entire operation and peoples lives just to avoid worrying his mother and spend time with his family. Personally, I’d put more weight on ensuring the raid’s success—making sure no national assets were lost, the hunters safely made it back to their own families, and the threat was neutralized. But at the end of the day, that just comes down to a difference in values. The most obvious explanation to me is that Jin-Woo lacked foresight due to inexperience, or he was being selfish—or perhaps willfully ignorant—choosing to believe the operation would go smoothly without him so he could enjoy the best of both worlds. For some reason, people seem to struggle accepting the idea that Jin-Woo could simply be a flawed character who made a mistake.

Crimson

There is an explanation to this much later in the series but it comes down to once you are awakened you can no longer participate in sports events and competitions anymore. Spoiler: that A rank guild master was an olympic runner but when the olympics started he awakened so was disqualified from participating

Math Rick

So this is from the novel but he gauged Goto and he saw that Goto was more than strong enough to face off against the ants, let alone all the top hunters on the Japanese side as a whole, no one knew about the ant king because he wasn't born yet when they last visited the island for recon. The ant queen sensed the need to produce a super soldier so she depleted 3/4th of her own Mana producing an ant that not only was strong but got stronger the more he consumed. Ant king consume is basically Ant version of Jinwoo solo leveling system. Jinwoo stayed home because he didn't have the heart to tell his mother he had awaken as a hunter just like his father yet and he was deciding to take a some time off from hunting to spend it with family. Sorry for long post but I am getting tired of anime only fans not getting the whole reason he stayed back.

Math Rick

@Rockcitygirl " By that logic, he has to go on every potentially dangerous mission ever, since it could turn out to be a catastrophe without him." Nope. That's silly and a slippery slope. He should only feel obligated to step in for missions that actually require a hunter beyond S-Rank—like S-Rank dungeons. Also, the people in charge of the raid definitely knew they were taking a risk. They went through with it because they had more firepower than ever before and were now working under a time limit.

Crimson

I agree that my reaction is influenced by hindsight, given how disastrously the raid unfolded. However, I do not believe that there was a solid basis to reasonably infer that the operation would go smoothly. Jin-Woo and the raid team had little to no recent intelligence on Jeju Island. Their entire strategy relied on outdated data from the last failed raid, yet a considerable amount of time had passed since then. Given how quickly the ants had been shown to evolve, there simply wasn’t enough information to confidently assume that the raid would go smoothly. We also have no idea how thoroughly the Korean S-Rank hunters explored Jeju Island. Did they ever even make it to the queen’s lair? If not, how could they possibly account for all the risk factors? At best, the outdated reports suggested a high probability of success if conditions had remained the same. Even if I were to grant that the raid had a strong likelihood of success, it still remained an undeniably dangerous mission. The Jeju raid had already failed three times, an S-rank hunter had been confirmed dead in a previous attempt, and the strongest force in the raid—the Japanese team—was operating separately as a diversion. Bringing Jin-Woo into the fight would have all but guaranteed victory while minimizing damages. Moreover, nearly every arc has featured events spiraling out of control in ways beyond expectation. At this point, I’m surprised Jin-Woo isn’t more vigilant, operating under the assumption that if something can go wrong, it will go wrong. I could be missing some context from the novel, but the more I think about it, the more I realize it’s probably not that complicated. Jin-Woo wanted to believe that the raid would go smoothly without himself getting involved so he could spend more time with his family or it was a convenient plot device for maximum aura harvest.

Crimson

Yes, literally this. Everyone is mad about Jinwoo not going. By that logic, he has to go on every potentially dangerous mission ever, since it could turn out to be a catastrophe without him. The people responsible for the mission thought they were fine and could manage without him, so he did too.

Rockycitygirl

You're looking only in retrospect. Jin Woo had no reason to believe this would be a particularly dangerous operation, 20+ S class in a collaborative attack.

D B

You guys should react to arcane it’s a great show

Boston White

That was mad hype but I’m a bit perplexed as to why Jin Woo didn’t participate in the raid in the first place. Surely missing one or two days with his family is worth the operation going as smoothly as possible with the least amount of damage / casualties? Maybe it’s just a difference in values idk but it’s rubbing me the wrong way.

Crimson

its insane to think that the ant easily defeated the s rank hunter despite them being known as the strongest hunter also i like the theories during the opening it makes me agree as well

toasty

To be honest sports would be so much more interesting in this world as they would probably be taken over by people with powers although I imagine setting rules would be a nightmare because of how varied the powers

Kret

The only reason he was so late is because of a 10 minute delay on the broadcast it was stated in the last episode and he doesn’t have the ability to see through shadows

graves

lol 😂

Calt Being

I just wanted to ask where do you watch the series from? like what site?

Sharvari Thakare

There was a ten minute delay in the camera footage so they could cut the feed if things went horrifically, so Jinwoo didn't actually know anything was wrong until Goto was killed by the black ant. Goto was the first to die that had a shadow soldier hiding in his shadow, so he was immediately alerted at that point.

Ryne Billings

As someone who has read the manwha I think it just symbolizes how he left his old self to be how he is now

sam

I'm hoping it explains it in the next episode because I'm reluctant to reveal the black ants special ability. Let's just say he can kind of level up rapidly too and leave it at that.

Hunters: we did it, we killed the queen, we killed the final boss... System: you have killed the enemy hunters: huh?

Skull Knight

Chimera Ant Arc!!! 🫣

Calt Being

I haven't read anything just watched the anime. But with how they show old sung in the outro it makes me wonder, was it really sung that left the double dungeon at the very beginning?

Kenny McClain

Just incase you might have forgot but last episode Jinwoo only put his shadows on Goto, Jong in, Cha, Yoonho and chairman and only Goto died out these 5, Then jin woo showed up, also i forgot if the cameraman said that the raid broadcast is delayed. so far we know he can’t see through his shadows because in tower he didn’t know why his shadows were disappeared until he went there himself, and when he used exchange he couldn’t see through his shadow.

Mohammad Bemana

Without revealing much it’s more than symbolic. Can’t say what it signifies though

A Guy

How in the world is the black ant that powerful? I mean, it was literally born that strong without any explanation. Sure, it can be stronger than older generations, but this one looks like it skipped at least 20 generations, lol. To be honest, that thing looks even stronger than Jinwoo, but maybe it just seems that way because it's so reckless and doesn’t hesitate at all.

Rockycitygirl

This is some of the thickest plot armor I've ever seen - for the Korean hunters (besides Byung-Gu...). RiP Byung-gu

Rockycitygirl

Reason Sung Jinwoo didn't come earlier is because the broadcast is 10 minutes delayed, and Min along with the other Japanese hunters didn't have a shadow attached. Only Goto and the main korean hunters had shadows attached. So the moment Goto died he knew something was wrong. And that's when he uses exchange.

eXxCeZz

This one was a crazy setup for the finale, honestly Solo leveling might have the best finale to an anime season of this year for me 🔥
