My mom is older than my dad and our neighbors reacted negatively when hearing it. Not intense though, just like a negative "oh" reaction. Some celebrity parents in South Korea were turned off when knowing their son is in a relationship with an older woman. It's kind of a prejudice here that when a man is older than a woman, he tends to take care of her better. And since a man matures later than a woman, it's better for a man to be older or the woman will deal with a childish boyfriend. (not all) Although in some cases, people starts saying "age doesn't matter", which is true unless if the other one is a minor. (:

It's really fun to see both of their dynamics together, so hope you could watch that once you get the chance to.
