2025-06-19 01:25:45 +0000 UTCSteph is correct, it was Okabe hearing "I'm also in love with you" from Kurisu that prevented him from deleting the data from SERN's database and staying in that Alpha worldline. Kurisu then decided that he needed to go back after seeing him suffer so much, and sent that D-mail telling herself to not come in. I'm glad that Wes can appreciate Kurisu as a character. About 5 years ago, the original Steins;Gate creator announced that he was working on a thematic sequel (initially called Steins;God) and it would include a new set of characters, but he was also going to include Kurisu because he needed her high level of intelligence in order for the story to work (also threw in Okabe and Daru because why not).
