86 Episode 9

Two more episode before you guys are done with part 1 of 86. There exist a video on Youtube that explains what happens, or should I say, reviews any details you guys might've missed. The video itself doesn't have anything that spoils part 2, it's very well made. It's from CtrlAltQQ, a 16 minutes video, I'll abstain from posting the link here, but I really hope you guys watch the video after finishing episode 11. The video could be watched right after episode 11, or could do both part 1 and 2 once the series is done. I will leave it to you guys on what will be decided Other than that, I love your reactions, I've mainly subbed for Code Geass and 86, as those 2 are in my top anime of all time, and I'll be honest, I must have by now watched 86 more or less 4 times (this isnt counting watching reactors), and sometime I find myself noticing other details I might've missed the first time I've watched the series

Doesnβt matter for this episode since you guys understood the end already, but just a warning so you donβt skip over any future after-credit scenes. Each end credits as well has unique images it shows for each episode, so itβs also nice to watch through them.

The republic is ready for the next wave of 86 to form the new spearhead team (remember they sent brand new equipment), so they need the current team to die. So at the beginning of episode 8, you see Lena receive a "special reconnaissance orders; mission duration unlimited". Basically they order the current team to go die in the deepest part of the legion territory, which lead to Lena going to the chapel to talk to her uncle. So basically, Shin and co accepted the mission, they are going deep into Legion territory and will try to go as far as possible.

When push comes to a shove, she gets the job done. Also, regarding your question on Shepherd's human consciousness (the following information is not really a spoiler since the anime did not expand on it): Black Sheep = neural network copied from damaged or decayed brain. You can get multiple Black Sheep copies by scanning the damaged brain multiple times before it becomes unusable (though this is just a theory). Shepherd = neural network copied from fresh undamaged brain. Memories and personality are kept. Shepherds' brains are harvested only once, making each one the only existing copy of itself. If that copy is destroyed, the data is lost forever. Since Shepherds still retain a sense of self, having two of them is something they will not stand for; more than one copy of a Shepherd doesn't exist at one time to prevent the "person" inside from meeting themselves.
