The novel specifies that 1/1000 of the 86 survive their first year on the battlefield. The spearhead squadron are all in their 4th or 5th year (because they need to be killed off before their "5-year conscription" is up). 20:25 Kaie planted those... You can see her watering the plants in the first 3 episodes and then after she dies the plants slowly start to wither over the following episodes.

Other than Girls’ Last Tour, “Touring After the Apocalypse” and “Heavenly Delusion” are also great animes about journeying in a post-apocalyptic world. And then you have Tatsuki’s the weirdly charming “Kemono Friends” and “Kemurikusa”. All are really underrated (at least outside Japan).

Really have to rewatch it >.< 86 is such a good show tho and the second opening is one of my favorite songs for a while now, it's in my playlist ever since i first saw and heard it. It will be such a bummer to see them skip it~

It was such a brutal stopping point before the break for us watching as it first aired lol So yeah...where do we go from here? Well there is Lena of course. But damn, what about our intrepid 5 from Spearhead? Us viewers just basically had broken hearts after this episode...with not a clue as to how the story will go on. I love Steph's stubbornness to accept what she saw and reject the idea that Shin is dead haha. Whereas Wes seemed to be more pragmatic and accepting of it. Awesome chemistry...it's almost like you're married or something lol
