The Week That Was: 12/13 - 12/17/2021
Added 2021-12-18 18:45:52 +0000 UTCGreetings, Nextlanders! Sorry for the missed recap post last week. Previous weekend got all the way away from me, but I'm holed up at home this weekend and got nothing to do but catch up on video games, and catch you up on all the Nextlander content you might've missed over the last week.

Alex Discovers the Wonders of Binary Domain (12/13/2021)
After we did that Xbox backward compatible games stream, people seemed to REALLY want me to play more Binary Domain. That was ideal, because I also REALLY wanted to play more Binary Domain. So over the last couple of weeks, I've REALLY been playing more Binary Domain. (If you missed it last week, the first installment can be found here.)

Very Vinny Mornings: Guardians of the Galaxy (12/14/2021)
Vinny is completely and utterly dedicated to finishing Guardians of the Galaxy, which is admirable. However, I don't know if he realizes that he still has a lot of Guardians of the Galaxy left to play before the end of the year. So long as he stays focused and keeps knocking these flarkin' cultists around, he may just make it happen! (If you missed last week's installment, you can find that right here.)

Weekly Ramblecast 027: Grandpa Used to Play Rock Band
On this week's Ramblin' cast, we go deep on the various kinds of stinkbugs, what is and isn't considered Matrix canon, the new Beatles documentary, and whether Minecraft or Fortnite will have a bigger cultural impact when all is said and done. Also, special thanks to RazgrizTwo for the image of the Grandpa Used to Play Rock Band sweatshirt seen above. (We're not planning on selling this as merch or anything, but it is a pretty damn good mock-up).

The Nextlander Podcast 028: Idris Elba as Knuckles
On this week's main podcast, we run through the most interesting trailers from the Game Awards while deftly avoiding talking about the awards entirely. Plus, we all get hunked on The Gunk, continue to plow through Halo Infinite's campaign, and check out that Matrix tech demo everyone was so hyped about.

Absolutely Alex Afternoons: Alex Jumps Back into Lost Judgment
The great plowing through the year's backlog continues this week with a jump into my current Lost Judgment save. There are some story spoilers here, so be cautious if you are trying to avoid those. Fortunately they aren't endgame spoilers, because I have WAY MORE Lost Judgment to play than I realized! (Also, if you happened to miss last week's Fights in Tight Spaces stream, you can find that here.)

Alex and Vinny Explore Heavenly Bodies -- Part 02
For the last couple of Fridays, Vinny and I have been trying out this cooperative, physics-heavy space game, and having a very fun--if occasionally infuriating--time with it. This week we have to gather minerals and plant a lovely garden. Easy, right? WRONG. (Also, if you happened to miss last week's first installment, you can find that right here.)
---
And that was the week! As always, we thank you all for your continued support, whether it be through Patreon, Twitch, or just via the podcasts, it all helps, and we could not do this without you. Stay safe out there, and we'll see you all next week.

I’ll write a letter to Harmonix (it’s not like their using that trademark for anything else these days T.T)
