The Week That Was: 01/10 - 01/14/2022
Added 2022-01-16 20:05:56 +0000 UTCGreetings, Nextlander! I hope that you're having yourselves a terrific weekend. We're midway through a three-day break ourselves, as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday here in the States. So while that means we'll be off this Monday, that just means you'll have a little extra time to catch up on all the Nextlander content you might've missed over the last week!

Will Smith and Nextlander Play The Anacrusis
Tech Pod co-host and Stray Bombay communications man Will Smith drops by to show off the studio's just-released early access PvE shooter, The Anacrusis. Will we survive the alien onslaught aboard this retro-futuristic luxury spaceship? Tune in to find out!

Weekly Ramblecast 031: Interdepartmental Beef
On this week's ramblecast we consider the lifestyle of those who work in a firehouse, try and guess which emergency services and military divisions hate one another, lament the lack of walkin' around in pandemic life, determine the precise moment when you should throw bread away, and try to talk Brad into making his own MiSTer RAM.

The Nextlander Podcast 032: Iulian Was Right
On this week's flagship podcast, we discuss our time with The Anacrusis, and address a community request in finally digging into Resident Evil: Village, a game that seems great and also has an unruly obsession with violent hand trauma. Plus, we discuss Sony's PSVR 2 announcement, Take-Two buying Zynga, and the passing of legendary video game mascot (and also legendary football coach and commentator) John Madden.
ALSO! This is our first episode to feature an ad! Obviously if you are a subscriber at any of our Patreon tiers, you won't have to worry about ads, as that's been one of our $5 tier benefits since the beginning. All you have to do is subscribe to the Patreon RSS feed and you'll get the usual ad-free show. At the moment, we haven't gotten any reports of the ads throwing off our chapter markers much, if at all. If at some point they do knock things out of alignment, please let us know. Our goal is to keep those markers accurate for everyone, but at the very least, they should stay accurate for patrons in perpetuity.

Alex and Vinny Explore Heavenly Bodies [Part 03]
Late last year, Vinny and I spent some time checking out Heavenly Bodies, a game all about flailing your limbs around in anti-gravity scenarios. This week we finally return to the game to tackle the last couple of challenges. Will we arrive safely back on Earth? Do we manage to grab the bonus trophy in the process? You'll just have to watch for yourself to find out!

Friday Fun Stream: I Need DOS!
It's been a hot minute since we fired up the ol' MiSTer, and Brad had a serious hankering for some i486 action. It's a good time grab bag of genuine classics, and a few "classics" too.

And that was the week! We'll return to our usual content schedule on Tuesday. Thank you as always for your continued support, and have a great rest of your weekend!
