The Week That Was: 01/31 - 02/04/2022

Greetings, Nextlanders! It's time once again to recap all the fun stuff we made over the last week, and this was an especially busy one! So let's hop right to it.

Getting an "E" for "Easily the Best Solution" in Scrap Mechanic 

What can we say about Challenge 36? Truly, it was our most vexing challenge to date. Solution after solution seemed to go nowhere. Even the GREATEST SOLUTION WE HAVE EVER COME UP WITH failed to yield worthwhile results (RIP pitching machine, you were too beautiful for this world). Finally, we had no choice but to consult the French. Will they give us the solution we need to succeed? Tune in to find out!

Weekly Ramblecast 034: We Don't Talk About Yonkers 

The weekly Ramblecasts are always a journey. That said, you kinda have to experience this one for yourself to understand how we get from talking about regional donut shop cultures to theories dictating that all space faring civilizations would necessarily eradicate one another. I'm not even entirely sure how we got there, and I was sitting there through the whole conversation!

Nextlander Attempts to Stay Human in Dying Light 2 

We've got a double shot of Dying Light 2 this week. First up, I take the zombified wheel and take you and the team on a tour of Dying Light 2's single-player experience. Thrill as I hop and bop my way from rooftop to blacktop! Chill as I race through the darkness amid bloodcurdling screams and hordes of angry ghouls! Spill as I land flat on my face and get eaten repeatedly!

Nextlander Comfy Crew: Pupperazzi! 

NEW SHOW ALERT. Our friend and yours Mary Kish will be joining us to play some of the most pleasant video games around! On this first episode, Mary and Vinny dig into Pupperazzi, a game about photographing adorable dogs.

The Nextlander Podcast 035: Spicoli on the Brain 

Our big discussion game this week is Dying Light 2, but we also manage to check out the Halo streaming series trailer, and chat about the big acquisitions of the week, including PlayStation buying Bungie, the New York Times snagging Wordle, and OlliOlli World grabbing Danny Trejo.

Nextlander Checks Out Bloodborne PSX! 

We've been dying to check this one out since we first heard about this chunky fan-made tribute to both Bloodborne and the primordial days of 3D graphics. Brad takes us on this whirlwind tour of low-res Yarnham and we all come away impressed.

Monthly Planorama 009: February 2022 

Once again it is time for us to plan out our month according to the release calendar, which means we're talking about the biggest and best games, like Horizon Forbidden West, Sifu, Elden Ring, OlliOlli World, King of Fighters XV, and *checks notes*...Derpy...Conga...?

Dying Light 2: Your Cooperation Is Appreciated! 

For our final dose of Dying Light 2 this week, Brad and Vinny take to the game's co-op mode on PS5 and run around the game's ruined city, taking on missions, helping out where possible, and mostly just getting into horrible, violent trouble.
