The Week That Was: 10/10 - 10/15/2021

Hi everyone! It's the weekend! And what are weekends for? That's right, catching up on all the Nextlander stuff you might've missed over the past week! That's the only thing they're for. Everyone knows this.

And now, without further ado, the stuff!

The Nextlander Scream Team: Alien: Isolation -- Part 01 

The deadly duo of Vinny and Abby have reunited to make you scream once again! They're taking on Alien: Isolation in VR, because the only thing more terrifying than a xenomorph chasing you around is a xenomorph chasing you around while you're wearing a cumbersome VR helmet! New episodes will post each Sunday this month.

Note: There's a chance that this video might cause folks with motion sickness issues some problems, so give it a little taste before diving in for the whole thing.

The Amazing Hitmarathon -- Episode 03 

This week's Hitmarathon menu includes the final two maps from Hitman (2016), Colorado and Hokkaido. Plus, you even get a little bonus action as the boys try out the Patient Zero version of the Hokkaido map for shits and giggles.

Alex and Vinny Play Life Is Strange: True Colors -- Episode 05 

Gonna be real here: I think the plot on this one miiiiiiiiiight be stretching itself a little beyond what's reasonable, but we're still all-in for these wild twists and turns, and incredible, avant garde musical performances with no music. 

Weekly Ramblecast 018: Argueing about Video Games is Stupid... 

On this week's ramblin' ramblecast, we recount some of our past experiences working customer service jobs, try to remember which pets went into space (and if any of them came back), reveal Brad's deep, dark Wii secret, and remind ourselves that the System Wars never truly ended.

The Nextlander Podcast 019: Across the Shyamalaniverse 

On this week's show the bulk of the game discussion focuses on the newly released Metroid Dread for Nintendo Switch (and, well, PC), but we also touch on Sable, more of JETT: The Far Shore and Out Wilds: Echoes of the Eye, and we talk about such fun news subjects as FIFA and EA fighting over who gets how many billions of dollars, and whether or not Microsoft's blue ribbon commission on right to repair will result in any real progress on the matter. 

Full Motion Vinny: Ripper -- Episode 07 

We did it! We finally uncovered the identity of the Ripper! Wanna know who it is? You'll have to watch this very special final episode to find out! Trust me, it's worth it just for the bonus Burgess Meredith hologram and the godawful chess minigame.

Friday Fun Stream: Shadowgate -- Part 01 

We had ourselves a blast watching on Bradley Shoemaker play through this classic adventure game. This game's got everything! Hidden treasure, dastardly trolls, skeletons holding stuff, impassable acid goo, brooms, you name it!
